How are jaw lymph nodes treated?

The lymph nodes are clinically called submandibular lymph nodes, which is also a relatively common type of lymph node disease. Clinically, the nature of submandibular lymph node diseases is taken very seriously. If this type of disease is delayed in treatment, it is easy to become malignant and may even develop into submandibular lymphoma. Therefore, submandibular lymph nodes must be detected and treated early. How to treat jaw lymph nodes?

1. Systemic treatment

Acute lymphadenitis should first control inflammation to prevent its spread, and use effective and sufficient antibiotics such as penicillin, streptomycin or other broad-spectrum antibiotics. Medication can also be selected based on the drug sensitivity test of the specimen. For tuberculous lymphadenitis, isoniazid 100 mg, 3 times a day, for long-term use for 18-24 months, and streptomycin 0.5 g, intramuscular injection twice a day can be used. Supportive therapy is to supplement necessary vitamins and fluids and regulate electrolyte balance.

2. External application of the anti-inflammatory prescription

Before using the medicine, wash and dry the skin at the application area. Rub the skin with ginger until it turns red (it can unclog the pores of the affected area, promote qi and blood circulation, and applying a plaster afterwards can enhance the therapeutic effect). Preheat the plaster over low heat to soften it for easy application (make sure the temperature is appropriate, the plaster should be softened enough to be adhered, if the temperature is too high the plaster will become oily and burn the skin. You can also preheat with steam, radiator, or a cup of boiling water, as long as the plaster is softened for easy application, you can stick the plaster on the affected area).

3. Surgical treatment

When purulent lymph nodes are accompanied by oral floor abscess or cellulitis, incision and drainage should be performed to remove pus and necrotic tissue. Single or actively proliferating lymph node tuberculosis that is poorly responsive to anti-tuberculosis drug treatment can be surgically removed and pathologically examined.
