The main symptoms are whitish or reddish round or oval patches on the face with small scales attached to the surface, and sometimes itching. It is more common on the face, but can also be seen on the upper arms, neck, and shoulders. It is common in people with allergic constitution, and is also related to factors such as excessive exposure to wind and sun, indigestion, vitamin deficiency, dry skin, and the use of inferior cosmetics.
