Herpes coli is a common viral infectious disease, mainly caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which then lurks in the body. When the body's immunity becomes very poor, the virus can easily spread along the nerves, eventually forming herpes symptoms in a band-like arrangement, and severe neuralgia will occur. There are many ways of transmission, the most common of which is through droplets. In addition, unclean food can also easily induce the disease. 1. Spread of herpes coli through droplets The pathogens of respiratory infectious diseases transmitted through droplets exist in the mucus on the surface of the respiratory mucosa or in the fragments of ciliated epithelial cells. When the patient exhales, speaks loudly, cries, snores, coughs, or sneezes, a large number of mucus droplets containing pathogens may be sprayed from the nasopharynx. These droplets are small in size (about 15 to 100 μm) and remain suspended in the air for a short time (usually no more than a few seconds). The scope of droplet transmission is limited to close contacts around patients or carriers. Epidemic meningitis, influenza, whooping cough, etc. can be transmitted in this way. Crowded makeshift sheds, detention centers or prisons, cabins with many passengers, and station waiting rooms are common places where this type of transmission occurs. 2. Spread of herpes coli through water There are two modes of waterborne transmission. One type is caused by drinking water contaminated by feces, and the other type is caused by contact with "infected water" (infected water). Diseases transmitted through drinking water include cholera, typhoid, bacillary dysentery and hepatitis A. The intensity of its epidemic depends on the type of water source, the scope of water supply, the intensity and frequency of water pollution, the length of time pathogens survive in water, whether drinking water hygiene management is complete, and the hygiene habits of residents. Transmission through drinking water often presents outbreaks or epidemics. The distribution of cases is consistent with the water supply range and there is a history of drinking the same water source. Except for breastfeeding infants, there is no difference in the incidence rate among people of similar age, gender, and occupation who drink raw water at a similar rate. Those who drink raw water excessively are more likely to get sick. It is difficult to detect pathogens from water during waterborne epidemics. Epidemics or outbreaks can be quelled if the contaminated water is stopped from being used or purified. If the water source is frequently polluted, cases may occur throughout the year and the disease may become endemic. 3. Transmission of herpes coli through food All intestinal infectious diseases, certain parasitic diseases and individual respiratory diseases (such as tuberculosis, diphtheria, etc.) can be transmitted through food. There are two situations that cause food transmission: one is that the food itself contains pathogens, and the other is that the food is contaminated under different conditions. Situations where the food itself contains pathogens: such as cattle and pigs infected with Cysticercus spp., cattle and sheep infected with anthrax, milk produced by dairy cows infected with tuberculosis or brucellosis, livestock, poultry and eggs infected with Salmonella, and aquatic organisms such as clams, oysters, clams and shells that carry the hepatitis A virus. If you eat the above foods that are not cooked or sterilized, you may get infected. |
