Chloasma is a skin disease that appears on the face. The affected areas include many parts, mainly on the face and bridge of the nose. In severe cases, it will appear on the corners of the eyes and forehead, which will have a great impact on personal appearance. More serious chloasma covers a large area and cannot be covered even with makeup. Some patients are caused by congenital and acquired factors. In fact, the appearance of chloasma is mostly pigmentation. In terms of the treatment of chloasma, in addition to topical medications, common folk remedies can also be used. Although folk remedies have no scientific basis, many people have used them and they are relatively effective. This is also the experience summarized by everyone in practice. What are the topical drugs for treating melasma? 1. When going out, you can apply sunscreen, such as para-aminobenzoic acid and its esters, but you should be careful to prevent allergic reactions when using them. 2. Topical corticosteroids. Strong preparations, such as clobetasol, 1 to 2 times a day. However, long-term use can easily cause side effects, including local skin atrophy and capillary dilation. Alternatively, moderate-acting corticosteroid preparations, such as hydrocortisone butyrate, can be used for treatment, which has fewer side effects. 3. Topical retinoic acid cream. Use 1 to 2 times a day. It has a depigmenting effect. It is best to use a low concentration of this cream at the beginning. Then gradually increase the concentration. The side effects are dry skin, scaling, and certain irritation. This drug is often used in combination with other depigmenting agents, such as compound tretinoin cream, which contains tretinoin and arbutin, both of which can inhibit the activity of tyrosinase and reduce the production of melanin. Retinoic acid can also be used in combination with hydroquinone. In order to improve efficacy and reduce side effects, corticosteroid preparations can be added to the above combination. Topical application twice a day can produce maximum effect. 4. Other external decolorizing agents. 5. For those whose pigments are in the deeper dermis and the effect of external depigmenting agents alone is not significant, chemical peeling methods such as fruit acid or trichloroacetic acid can be used. High concentrations of fruit acid are somewhat irritating to the skin. In addition to what I said, when using trichloroacetic acid, clean your face first and degrease with ether. After applying trichloroacetic acid, leave it on for 1 to 2 minutes, rinse thoroughly with cold water, and then apply hydrocortisone ointment. After exfoliation, the skin will develop erythema and desquamation. During this period, the face should be washed 2 to 3 times a day and ointment should be applied to remove the exfoliated epithelium. Once the wound heals, a depigmenting agent can be used to prevent pigmentation. Traditional Chinese medicine is an effective method for treating chloasma. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that chloasma is mostly caused by emotional frustration, stagnation of liver qi, which turns into heat over time, burning the yin blood and causing facial qi and blood disharmony; or qi stagnation turns into fire, which consumes the yin of the liver and kidneys, causing the water color to rise and cause the spots. As far as this disease is concerned, there is not much pain, but the cause of this disease is mostly mental and emotional factors, and bad mood will inevitably affect normal sleep; after the disease is formed, the beauty of the face is suppressed, and the inner world is bound to become complicated, which will also affect normal sleep. Therefore, mental and emotional factors are not only an important cause of the disease, but also a condition that aggravates the condition. It is easy to cause chloasma due to bad mood. After the formation of this spot, bad mental emotions will in turn aggravate the condition, forming a vicious cycle. For some melasma patients with bad mood, it is not surprising that insomnia occurs. Practical observations have shown that nearly two-thirds of melasma patients have sleep disorders, and the more eager they are to achieve beauty, the more serious their insomnia becomes. |
