What are the precautions for leep knife surgery

Medical technology is developing rapidly now, and the treatment of many diseases has also improved a lot. Nowadays, many women face various pressures from family life and work. When they are too busy, they fail to take good care of themselves, so they will suffer from some gynecological diseases, which may even lead to serious consequences. The leep knife surgery has special advantages for treating various gynecological diseases in women. It has the advantages of short operation time, safe and simple operation process, less pain, less bleeding during the operation, and faster recovery after the operation. Now let’s talk about the precautions of the leep knife surgery.

1. Precautions for Leep Knife Surgery

1. Prevent infection, give antibiotics for 3 to 5 days as appropriate, and prevent bleeding;

2. Vaginal discharge begins 2-3 days after surgery and lasts for about 2-4 weeks, which is normal;

3. A follow-up visit or telephone call should be made one week to examine the surgical wound and inquire about the pathological results. If the postoperative pathology is the following, close follow-up is required: cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN); carcinoma in situ; cervical CIN combined with condyloma acuminatum; flat cervical condyloma acuminatum, etc.

4. 1-2 weeks after the operation, the cervical wound will shed its scab and begin to bleed slightly, which will stop on its own in about 4-6 weeks. If the bleeding is more than the menstrual volume or gradually increases, return to the hospital to stop the bleeding;

5. Follow-up visit 1 or 2 months after surgery to check wound healing and apply topical medication to promote epithelial repair if necessary;

6. Sexual intercourse, bathing and washing are prohibited for 2 months after surgery;

7. It is very important not to ride a bicycle or lift heavy objects for one month after the operation. Heavy objects can easily cause secondary injuries to women, so everyone should take it strictly.

2. Advantages of leep knife surgery

1. It can achieve very fine surgical effects that traditional electric knives cannot achieve.

2. Complications caused by traditional electric knife rarely occur;

3. Pain is reduced, the chance of scarring is small, and complications (bleeding and infection) are fewer.

4. There is no danger of electric current passing through the body;

5. The electrode plates do not need to be coated with electrode paste, so there is no risk of burns.

6. The operation time is short, averaging 3-5 minutes, the operation is simple, painless, low cost, and only local anesthesia is used.
