How should lacerations be treated?

How should lacerations be treated?

In our daily life, we may accidentally get some small wounds. When the wound is about to heal, it may be torn again. There was already an injury, and now that the wound is torn, it is even more painful. Moreover, the torn wound is more likely to become red, swollen, festered, infected, etc., which is still very harmful to our body. We should also pay attention to disinfection, use alcohol, iodine tincture for disinfection, or apply erythromycin ointment externally. We must also keep the injured area clean, avoid contact with irritating substances, and eat more light food. When the wound is torn, what should we do? Let’s take a look with the editor!

1. When cleaning the wound, the patient should try to stay relaxed and distract his attention. If you have chest pain, you can take painkillers or spray pain-relieving powder before cleaning the wound; if there is pus in the wound, use two cotton balls to squeeze it out as much as possible.

2. When a wound is bleeding, don’t think that bleeding is a bad thing, it can help clean the wound. Smaller wounds will stop bleeding automatically soon. If you want to stop the bleeding quickly, it is best to use a clean cloth attached to a harder object to press on the wound. If the wound is on a limb, raise the injured part so that it is relatively higher than the heart and the bleeding will slowly stop. If it is difficult to stop the bleeding, a bandage can be used. If the bleeding does not stop after applying pressure with a hard object for more than ten minutes, a bandage should be used. Bandages can help wounds that haven't closed heal. If the wound is easily stained or rubbed at any time, you can use medical bandages and adhesive tape to bandage the wound, but remember to change the gauze every day and keep it dry and clean. If the wound is very deep and the edges cannot be restored, it needs to be sutured to avoid infection.

3. When blood scabs appear, the best way is to do nothing. The wound forms a scab, which can prevent contamination by dirt. Try your best to prevent your child from adding water and the blood scab will fall off automatically when the wound heals. Some ulcerated wounds often have a foul odor, indicating necrotic tissue. You can first use high-pressure tap water to rinse the wound. When cleaning the wound, try to remove the dead flesh, and then cover it with activated carbon dressing to help absorb the odor.

After we do this, we can just wait for the wound to heal. Although we already have methods to deal with wounds, the editor still recommends that everyone be careful and not hurt yourself easily!
