How to use henna powder for hair dye

Henna powder is a natural plant powder made by drying, baking and grinding the leaves of the henna plant. It can be used for dyeing hair, painting and coloring nails, etc. However, in daily life, people often use henna powder to dye their hair because compared with the effects of other henna powders, it has the best effect when used for dyeing hair. The hair color it dyes is very natural and the color will make the facial skin very white. Moreover, it is very easy to use and you can make it at home. If you have these things at home, you can also make hair dye with henna powder to dye your favorite hair color. So how do you dye your hair with henna powder? You can try it according to the steps below.

1. Take an appropriate amount of henna powder and put it in a bowl. Generally, 3 small packs are enough for short hair. If you have long or thick hair, use 4-6 packs depending on the situation. Note that the henna powder is gray-green at this time! Occasionally you may find that the powder in some small packages has a slightly different color, which is normal. Please feel free to use it. (It is best to use a porcelain bowl with a smooth surface as the container, which is easy to clean later. Plastic bowls are almost impossible to wash off!)

2. Pour hot strong black tea (or hot coffee) into henna powder and stir well to make a mud. After it has cooled slightly, add a small amount of egg white, olive oil (or almond oil), honey, etc. and mix well. Note that you can make it thinner because it will become thicker after being left for a long time. Note that the henna paste is still green at this point. (Black tea and coffee help to color better, egg white, olive oil and honey play a better role in hair care, these things can be added or not.)

3. Leave it overnight. (It was originally required to leave it on for more than 3 hours. My experience is that if you want to darken the color of your hair, the henna powder paste needs to be left on for 8 hours or even longer, so I just left it on overnight.)

4. When you wake up the next morning, you will find that the henna powder has turned black ! And it’s thicker than last night! If it feels thick at this time, you can add some more tea, but be careful not to make it too thin, otherwise it may flow down when you brush it on your hair.

The time that henna powder (or henna paste) stays on the hair depends on each person's hair quality. At natural temperature, it can stay for 4 hours. The longer the stay time, the darker the color. If you use a heating cap, heat it for 20 minutes and then leave it for about 2-6 hours until the hair cools down. Be careful not to use shampoo to wash your hair immediately after dyeing it, so as not to affect the dyeing effect. Just use conditioner. When operating, please wear disposable plastic gloves and put a towel on your shoulders. If you accidentally get it on your skin, just wipe it off with a wet towel.
