What are the precautions for leptospirosis?

Many people's bodies are troubled by various pathogens every day. These pathogens themselves are difficult to eliminate through some appropriate methods in the human body. However, it is precisely because of these that carelessness will lead to the existence of pathogens and cause many complications. Therefore, we must know the causes of leptospirosis and the pathological symptoms. Because the onset of this disease is relatively special, in addition to understanding these, it is more important to do a good job of health care in diet, eat more foods rich in vitamins, and fruits and vegetables are very important. In daily care, we must first cut off the source of infection and ensure that the patient's personal belongings are clean and hygienic. Try not to stay in the fields, because these places are most likely to cause the outbreak of this virus, which can cause considerable harm to our bodies.

The diet should be light, eat more foods rich in vitamins, such as fruits and vegetables, and drink plenty of water.

Preventive Care

1. Elimination and management of infection sources

Launch a mass campaign to eliminate rats, protect grain, and prevent diseases. Rats should be eliminated in the epidemic area, livestock such as pigs, dogs, sheep, and cattle should be managed well, and quarantine of animal hosts should be strengthened. When patients are found, they are isolated and examined and treated in time, and their excretions such as urine, sputum, blood, cerebrospinal fluid, etc. are disinfected.

(II) Cutting off the route of infection

Protect water sources and food to prevent contamination by rats and sick animal urine. Investigations should be conducted on rice fields, ponds, ditches, puddles and areas to be reclaimed in epidemic areas, and the epidemic sources should be transformed according to local conditions and combined with water conservancy construction. Strengthen management of infected water and feces, build toilets and improve pig pens, and prevent animal feces and urine from entering nearby ponds, rice fields and stagnant water. Contaminated water sources and stagnant water can be sprayed and disinfected with bleaching powder and other effective drugs. Field water should be drained or treated with pesticides before rice is harvested. Manage diet to prevent food from being contaminated by the excrement of infected rats.

(3) Protect susceptible people from swimming, playing in water, and wading in infected water in epidemic areas and seasons. Strengthen personal protection and apply protective drugs on the skin. Try to wear long boots and rubber gloves, and prevent skin damage to reduce the chance of infection.

(iv) Drug prevention: Residents in epidemic areas, military units, and personnel participating in harvesting, flood prevention, and drainage who may come into contact with infected water should be vaccinated with a polyvalent Leptospira vaccine with the same strain of bacteria prevalent in the area one month in advance if possible. Twice a year, 7 days apart. The dosage for adults is 1 ml for the first time and 2 ml for the second time. The immunity produced by the human body after the full injection can last for about 1 year. The same injection will be required every year thereafter. Patients with heart or kidney disease, tuberculosis or fever are not given the injection.
