What are the symptoms of consumptive disease?

From a clinical perspective, there are many causes of tuberculosis, the most common of which are congenital fertility deficiency, excessive fatigue, heart and spleen damage, and imbalance between hunger and satiety. Patients will show fatigue, low voice or even no desire to speak, severe night sweats, weak pulse, dry mouth, red tongue with little coating, etc. In this case, active treatment must be carried out, and special attention should be paid to diet.

1. Causes of blood loss due to tuberculosis

1. Weak constitution, causing illness due to deficiency. The formation of various symptoms of deficiency and fatigue are closely related to weak constitution and physical weakness. A weak endowment may be caused by parents being frail, sickly, old and frail, or by lack of nourishment during the fetus, insufficient gestation, or by improper feeding after birth, resulting in a lack of water, grain, and essence. People with congenital deficiencies and weak constitutions are prone to diseases, and are prone to long-term illness after illness, which will cause the internal organs' qi, blood, yin and yang to become increasingly deficient, leading to consumptive disease and blood loss.

2. Excessive work will damage the five internal organs. Appropriate work, including mental and physical work, is necessary for people to live a normal life and maintain health. However, excessive work is harmful to your health, as it will lead to exhaustion and eventually lead to consumptive disease. Among the excessive fatigue, overwork of mind and overindulgence in lust are more common. Excessive mental strain such as depression, worry, unresolved thoughts, and unfulfilled desires can easily cause the heart to lose nourishment, the spleen to lose its healthy function, damage the heart and spleen, and cause deficiency of Qi and blood, which will eventually lead to asthenia over time. However, early marriage, multiple births, excessive sexual intercourse, frequent masturbation etc. can easily lead to deficiency of kidney essence and insufficient kidney qi, which can lead to fatigue and blood loss over time.

3. Improper diet damages the spleen and stomach. Overeating, imbalance between hunger and fullness, picky eating, malnutrition, excessive drinking, etc. will all lead to damage to the spleen and stomach, inability to produce the essence of water and grain, insufficient sources of qi and blood, and lack of nourishment to the internal organs and meridians, which will eventually lead to fatigue and blood loss.

4. After a serious illness or prolonged illness, if there is no proper conditioning, the evil qi will be too strong, the internal organs will be damaged, and the righteous qi will be difficult to recover in a short time, which will lead to exhaustion over time. For those who suffer from chronic illness and become exhausted, the nature of the disease varies in the degree to which the body's qi, blood, yin and yang are depleted. If fever lasts for a long time, it will consume yin blood; if cold disease lasts for a long time, it will damage qi and yang; if stasis lasts for a long time, new blood will not be produced; or if the body is not properly adjusted after the illness, it will be difficult for the vital energy to recover, all of which can develop into asthenia and blood loss.

5. Misdiagnosis or inappropriate treatment leads to loss of vital energy. Due to incorrect syndrome differentiation and diagnosis or improper selection of medicines, vital energy is damaged. If mistakes are made repeatedly, it will not only delay the treatment of the disease, but also make the Yin essence or Yang Qi difficult to recover, thus leading to exhaustion. In today's clinical practice, there have been cases of excessive use of certain chemical drugs or exposure to harmful substances (such as radiation), which have damaged the Yin essence, Qi and blood, leading to asthenia and blood loss.

2. Clinical manifestations of asthenia

Asthenia often occurs in patients with congenital deficiency, acquired disorder, serious illness, long-term illness, and depletion of vital energy. The course of the disease is generally long, the symptoms gradually worsen, and it is difficult to recover in a short period of time.

Asthenia is characterized by symptoms of weakness and insufficiency caused by decreased function of internal organs and deficiency of Qi, blood, Yin and Yang. On the basis of the common characteristics of asthenia, it is divided into deficiency of Qi, blood, Yin and Yang due to the different nature of the deficiency. The main symptoms of Qi deficiency are sallow complexion, fatigue, laziness, low voice, spontaneous sweating, and thin pulse; the main symptoms of blood deficiency are dull complexion, pale lips and nails, dizziness, and thin pulse; the main symptoms of Yin deficiency are dry mouth and tongue, hot flashes in the five parts of the body, night sweats, red tongue with little coating, and thin and rapid pulse; the main symptoms of Yang deficiency are pale complexion, cold body and limbs, pale and fat tongue with teeth marks, and deep and thin pulse.
