Many people are unfamiliar with rosin. It is mainly a chemical raw material. Rosin is widely used in life, especially in some industrial fields. Many common daily necessities in people's lives may use rosin as a raw material. Of course, during the use process, we must also know how to use rosin specifically, so that we can better apply rosin to life? 1. Soap industry Rosin is cooked with caustic soda to form rosin soap. The characteristics of rosin soap are its soft texture and strong detergency. It dissolves easily in water, foams easily, and can dissolve grease. Therefore, rosin is widely used in the soap industry. The quota of rosin consumed in soap production depends on the grade of soap and the quality of rosin and grease. The amount is generally 15-50% of the oil used in soap (about 0.5 tons of grease is used for 1 ton of soap). The quality requirements for rosin are related to the quality of the oil. When producing high-quality soap or using poor quality and darker oils, light-colored high-grade rosin is required. 2. Papermaking industry Rosin is used for sizing paper. Un-glued paper easily shows ink when written on and has poor acceptance of printing oils. The rosin grades required by the papermaking industry generally range from grade 3 to grade 6 (equivalent to international standard grades N to F). There are many varieties of paper, and the amount of rosin used varies. Generally, an average of about 10 kilograms of rosin is required per ton of paper. 3. Paint industry Rosin is often used as a basic raw material for paint making, and is used to make desiccants, softeners and artificial drying oils. For example, calcified rosin made by reacting rosin with lime is used in paints to increase the hardness and water resistance of the paint film. The role of rosin in paint is to make the paint bright in color, dry quickly, and make the paint film smooth and not easy to fall off. The rosin consumption of paint is roughly as follows: 8% for blended paint, 12% for varnish, 8% for spray paint, 6% for anti-rust paint, 15% for insulating paint, etc. 4. Ink industry It is mainly used as a color carrier for quick-drying and polyolefin surface printing inks, and enhances the adhesion of inks to polyolefin surfaces. If rosin is not used in the ink, the printed ink will be dull and unclear. The ink used for printing contains about 7% rosin. 5. Rubber industry Rosin is added to various rubber products. Rosin can soften raw rubber and increase its elasticity. Synthetic rubber (such as styrene-butadiene rubber) has poor viscosity, and rosin is added to increase its viscosity. Use 10 kg of rosin for every 100 kg of synthetic rubber. Rubber containing 2-6% rosin can increase its tear resistance and is particularly suitable for tire surfaces. 6. Electrical industry Rosin plays an insulating role in the electrical industry. The insulating oil prepared with 35% rosin and 65% bright oil is used as cable protective film to provide insulation and heat resistance. The cable consumes 50 kg of rosin per kilometer. |
