What are the uses of laser

Everyone has heard of laser, but very few people understand it because it contains a lot of information and is difficult to understand. But it has played an irreplaceable role in people's lives. It has made great contributions to scientific development, medicine, etc., and its merits are invaluable. So what are its other uses? Today I will introduce to you the uses of laser.

1. Laser communication. Fiber optic transmission has large capacity and long distance

2. Laser medicine. It can play multiple roles such as drill, scalpel, welding gun, or laser surgery, non-surgical treatment with weak laser biostimulation and laser photodynamic therapy.

3. Laser distance measurement, positioning, laser distance measuring is the use of laser as a light source for distance measurement. Compared with photoelectric rangefinders, it can not only operate day and night, but also improve the ranging accuracy, significantly reduce weight and power consumption, making it possible to measure the distance to distant targets such as artificial satellites and the moon.

4. Laser processing, including cutting, welding, surface treatment, punching, marking, scribing, fine-tuning and other processing techniques.

5. Laser discs can be used to store various information and sounds. Video discs can store and reproduce images and films, while computer-assisted, compact disc read-only memories (CD-ROMs) can contain a full range of information, from words and music to pictures and live television footage.

6. Military lasers, laser weapons, laser radar.

Lasers are widely used in many fields :

Laser processing technology is a technology that uses the characteristics of the interaction between laser beams and matter to cut, weld, perform surface treatment, punch holes, micro-process materials (including metals and non-metals), and serve as a light source and identify objects. The largest traditional application area is laser processing technology. Laser technology is a comprehensive technology involving multiple disciplines such as optics, mechanics, electricity, materials and testing. Traditionally, its research scope can generally be divided into:

1.Laser processing system. Including laser, light guide system, processing machine tools, control system and detection system.

2. Laser processing technology. Including cutting, welding, surface treatment, punching, marking, scribing, micro-carving and other processing techniques.

Laser welding: thick and thin plates of automobile bodies, automobile parts, lithium batteries, pacemakers, sealed relays and other sealed devices, as well as various devices that do not allow welding pollution and deformation. The lasers used in 2013 are YAG lasers, CO2 lasers and semiconductor pumped lasers.

Laser cutting: automotive industry, computers, electrical housings, wood mold industry, cutting of various metal parts and special materials, circular saw blades, acrylics, spring washers, copper plates for electronic parts below 2 mm, some metal mesh plates, steel pipes, tin-plated iron plates, sub-lead-plated steel plates, phosphor bronze, bakelite plates, thin aluminum alloys, quartz glass, silicone rubber, alumina ceramic sheets below 1 mm, titanium alloys used in the aerospace industry, etc. The lasers used include YAG laser and CO2 laser.

Laser Pointer

Laser pen: also known as laser pointer, star pointer, etc., is a pen-shaped transmitter made of visible laser designed to be portable, easy to hold, and processed into a laser module (diode).

Laser Beauty

(1) Lasers are increasingly used in the beauty industry. Pigmentation, such as nevus of Ota, port-wine stains, freckles, age spots, capillary dilation, etc., as well as tattoo removal, eyeliner removal, eyebrow removal, scar treatment, etc.; and before 2013, some new laser devices, high-energy ultra-pulsed CO2 lasers, erbium lasers for wrinkle removal, skin resurfacing, snoring treatment, teeth whitening, etc., have achieved good therapeutic effects, opening up an increasingly broad field for laser surgery.
