Homemade foam insulation box

Homemade foam insulation box

Insulated boxes are widely popular in daily life and are widely used. In fact, we can also make our own foam insulated boxes. The production method is very simple and easy to learn. Just prepare the necessary materials and then follow the given steps step by step to make it. There are some precautions in the production process. Friends who want to learn can try it.

1. Production process 1. Prepare materials: a thick cardboard box (the thicker the better), foam board (more than 3cm thick, the one in the picture below is 5cm thick), double-sided tape (sold in stationery stores or supermarkets), and the length and width of the cooking aluminum foil must be determined according to the length of the toast mold you usually use. The height of the cardboard box must be the height of the tube mold you usually use + 2 foam board thicknesses. Make the required materials, carton thickness and carton height. 2. Cut the foam board according to the faces of the rectangle. A total of 6 pieces need to be cut. First cut 2 pieces according to the bottom area to serve as the bottom and lid. 3. Stick on the aluminum foil. The aluminum foil has a glossy side and a matte side. Put the glossy side into the box and stick the matte side to the foam board.

4. First, stick aluminum foil on the bottom and top foam boards, and then use double-sided tape to stick them around.

Fixing the aluminum foil around the edges is a bit tricky and troublesome. Since there are some gaps at each seam of the homemade insulation box, which will cause heat loss, these gaps should be filled when wrapping the aluminum foil. First, stick double-sided tape on the foam board around the edges, and it is best to stick some tape on the upper edge as well.

5. Then wrap it with aluminum foil, making sure the corners are seamless. The aluminum foil must overlap where it is to be joined. The aluminum foil around the edges should be slightly wider than the foam board around the edges to solve the seam problem at the bottom edge. You can also use double-sided tape to fix it below. 6. Done! Put on the lid: The insulation effect of the insulation box made in this way is 1-2 times better than that of the foam box of the same thickness, and the heat is very uniform. Basically, if you put 2kg of soap made from oil in it, when the room temperature is 5-10 degrees, you can still feel the heat in the box after 24 hours. If you feel that the insulation effect is not enough, you can wrap the inside of the paper box with aluminum foil, or put a small insulation box inside the box, and there will be no problem. Relying on the heat of the soap liquid itself to generate heat for saponification is more uniform and safer than using external heat. This production method utilizes the heat exchange principle of mirror reflection of heat (aluminum foil) and air layer insulation (foam board). I hope the above method can be useful to everyone.

2. Summary of Homemade Foam Insulation Box I think the steps I introduced to you above should be good news for those who like DIY. After making it by ourselves, we can reduce a lot of costs and also enjoy the fun of the DIY process. Although some of the effects of homemade insulated boxes are not as good as those on the market, they are still effective within a certain period of time. If you want to make the effect better, you can use some materials to process it slightly, and the effect will also be very good.
