As the saying goes, eyes are the windows to the soul. They play an important role in the human body and directly affect a person's appearance. However, in modern society, heavy workload, high life pressure, and staying up late to work overtime are normal phenomena. Many people cannot maintain normal and sufficient sleep, especially office workers who face computers for a long time, who overuse their eyes. So what will excessive eye use lead to? Let’s take a look at the dangers of excessive eye use.

The dangers of excessive eye use

We all know that the liver is the most important detoxification organ in our body, and its importance cannot be underestimated. But nowadays most women cannot live without computers, and some even spend more than 18 hours on computers a day. Such excessive use of eyes can cause great damage to the liver. Do you know the pros and cons?

However, many modern women often do not pay enough attention to this, and some of them stare at the computer for a long time at work. After get off work, they do not allow their eyes to get enough rest, but instead relax by watching TV, playing computer games, etc. Such long-term excessive use of the eyes will inevitably damage the liver blood, make the eyes tired, and even affect sleep due to excessive concentration.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the spirit lies in the eyes. People who often use their eyes and brains are very exhausted. Closing the eyes frequently can effectively relieve fatigue and have a relaxing effect. It is also helpful for nourishing liver blood. If you can develop the habit of closing your eyes and resting frequently, you will tend to become calmer, fall asleep more easily at night, and it will also help improve your sleep quality. For women who are worried and prone to insomnia, this is also a good way to regulate their emotions.

Chinese medicine relieves eye fatigue

1. Massage moderately. It can relieve eye pressure and allow the muscles around the eyes to get the rest they deserve. Workers who use their eyes frequently at close range should close their eyes and rest for 5 minutes every 1-2 hours. You can press lightly on the eyeball with your middle finger and gently massage along the contour of the hemisphere.

2. Tap your eyes lightly. First, put the five fingers of both hands together, and then rub your palms together until they become warm. Close your eyes slightly and use your hollow palms to lightly place your hot palms over your eyes. After about 3 minutes, take your palms away from your eyes and slowly open your eyes. You will immediately feel your eyes are clear and bright.

3. Acupressure and massage the area around the eyes. Start by moving your fingers slowly over the eyes, from the corners of the eyes toward the ends. Use the tip of your thumb to massage your temples, taking a deep breath each time you massage your temples. Then, place your middle finger at the end of your eye and gently lift and massage toward the outside. Finally, place your fingers under your eyes, slowly move from the end of the eye to the corner of the eye, and press the eyelids with the pads of your index and middle fingers (or middle and ring fingers).

4. Massage cheeks and eyebrows. First, use your middle and ring fingers to massage the area just above your eyebrows in circular motions with a little force. Then, massage in circular motions above the cheekbones. Both steps should take about 3 minutes on average.
