The difference between bullfrog and toad

Bullfrogs are not toads. Bullfrogs and toads are two different creatures. Toads look extremely ugly, with many densely packed bumps on their bodies that can secrete venom. Although the bullfrog is quite large and has well-developed muscles, it does not look like a toad, nor is it that ugly or scary. The two are actually very easy to distinguish, and can be compared based on the following content.

1. Bullfrogs and toads are both amphibians, but they are not the same species. Their body shapes and habits are different, and their meat texture and body structure are different after they are killed.

2. Bullfrogs are native to several eastern states of the United States and were later introduced to western states and other countries. Some other large frogs are also called bullfrogs, such as the box-headed frog in Africa, the tiger-striped frog in India, and the slender-toed toad family in South America.

3. The bullfrog has a green or brown body, a white to light yellow abdomen, and black stripes on its limbs. The body length is about 20 cm, and the hind limbs are up to 25 cm long. Large adults weigh more than 0.5 kg.

4. Often live in or near still water. They breed in spring and lay their eggs in water. The tadpoles are greenish brown with dark spots. The tadpole stage lasts 1 to 3 years, depending on climatic conditions. Many bullfrogs are eaten or used as experimental materials.

5. The most common toad is the giant toad, commonly known as the toad. The skin is rough and the back is covered with large and small bumps, which are sebaceous glands. The largest pair are the parotid glands, located above the eardrum on the side of the head. The white venom secreted by these glands is the raw material for making toad venom.

6. The back of the toad is covered with bumps of various sizes, and it looks different from a frog at first glance.
