How to clean a mattress

How to clean a mattress

We spend one-third of our day sleeping in bed, and the mattress is something we inevitably come into contact with. However, in our lives, we will inadvertently dirty the mattress, and over time, microorganisms and bacteria in the air will slowly accumulate on the mattress. Not cleaning the mattress for a long time may have adverse effects on our body. So how do we clean the mattress? What is the correct way to clean it? How can I clean it thoroughly?

1. Vacuum the mattress. This method can avoid staining caused by some dirt without getting the mattress wet.

2. Use biochemical enzyme cleaner. Biochemical enzyme cleaners can effectively destroy the "biological structure" of pollutants, which is conducive to the removal of pollutants.

3. Use upholstery cleaner. It can directly clean the surface of the decoration that comes in contact with your skin. Another benefit of upholstery cleaner is that it removes small bugs and their contaminants.

2. Cleaning a Moldy Mattress

1. Put the mattress in the sun. Mattress mold is caused by excess moisture. On a sunny day, place the mattress in the sun to dry.

2. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the upper and lower surfaces of the mattress. Remember to clean the vacuum cleaner filter bag when you are done cleaning. This will prevent mold spores from leaking out and affecting the next use.

3. Mix equal parts isopropyl alcohol and warm water. Use a sponge to rub the solution into the mattress. Then rinse with warm water.

4. Clean with a common fungicide to kill any spores.

3. Remove blood stains

1. Clean with hydrogen peroxide. Apply the hydrogen peroxide cleaner to the mattress while it's bubbling. It may not completely remove all stains, but it will help. Then blot up the hydrogen peroxide cleaner with a clean, dry cloth.

2. Rinse with cold water. Rub a meat tenderizer on the dirt to clean out the protein and remove the iron found in the blood. You can also add some salt to boiled water and use this mixed solution to clean. This method is particularly effective.

3. Prepare a baking soda solution. Make a solution of one part baking soda to two parts cold water in a large bowl. Rub the prepared solution onto the dirt and leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse with a cloth dampened with cool water, then blot dry with a dry towel.

4. Remove the smell of cigarettes

1. Use the same method as for removing blood stains.

2. Change your bed sheets frequently. The more frequently you smoke, the more frequently you should change.

3. Use spray to remove cigarette smell. Spray two large cans of Lysol spray all over the mattress. Then let the mattress air dry and spray it with two large bottles of Freeze cleaner. Finish with a hypoallergenic mattress topper.

5. Remove urine stains and odors

1. Soak up as much excess liquid as possible.

2. Use an enzymatic cleaning product. Spray the cleaner onto the stain and then blot methodically.

3. When the mattress is dry, sprinkle some baking soda on it. Then leave the mattress overnight and vacuum it the next day.

4. You can also mix 8 ounces of hydrogen peroxide and 3 tablespoons of baking soda to make a cleaner. This cleaner is more suitable for cleaning as a spray.

6. Remove unknown contaminants from mattresses

Spray some citrus detergent (mild dishwashing detergent will also work) and leave it on for about 5 minutes. Then use a clean, white absorbent cloth to absorb as much of the detergent as possible.

7. Cleaning stains caused by colored drinks

1. Use vinegar or citrus cleaner. These should be applied as a spray onto the dirt, or rubbed onto the stain with a clean cloth. The acid helps remove stains.

2. Wipe with alcohol. Alcohol is a great aid in removing stains. Blot the stain with an absorbent, clean cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol.

Everyone should be clear about the seven methods of mattress cleaning. You don’t have to worry about how to remove stains in the future. So I hope everyone will pay more attention to keeping clean in daily life.
