Causes of little toe nail deformity

Causes of little toe nail deformity

I believe that no one wants to have deformities, because it means abnormality, and it is easy to attract strange looks from others. However, in life, not all abnormal people have problems. For example, the so-called deformity of the little toe nail that we are going to talk about today. You should know that everyone's nails are normally a whole piece, but some people's little toes are not like this. They are composed of two pieces. So let's talk about the reasons for this phenomenon.

The characteristic of the complex shape of the little nail on the foot is that the nail on the little nail on the foot seems to be "split" into two halves, the outer one is smaller and the inner one is larger. Some people have thick and incomplete little toenails on their feet. There are two types of human toenails. One is composed of two petals, that is, there is a crack on the toenail, which is called the double-petal type. The other is composed of a complete piece of toenail, that is, there is no crack on the toenail, which is called the single-petal type. The double-petal type is a dominant trait, and the single-petal type is a recessive trait.

This type of double toe shape on the little toe is common in East Asia, and is most frequently seen among the Han people. According to folklore, it is a symbol of the Big Locust Tree in Shanxi. Some people on the Internet say that the double toe came from the Xiongnu, some say it came from the ancient Qiang people, and some say it came from the Manchus. In short, there are all kinds of opinions.

Polydactyly of the little nail on the foot is not a deformity because it does not cause functional impairment. The polydactyly morphology of the little nails on the feet also has delayed characteristics. Some people do not show it when they are young, but it only develops obviously in adulthood. Among the Han people, some are split and some are not, and there are fewer of them in the south than in the north. Other ethnic groups have forked branches and some do not.

Walking creates increased pressure and friction on the outside of the little toe, leading to callus.

So I think that lobed nails have nothing to do with race or genetics. If present, hereditary conditions may also include ankylosis of the first joint of the little toe and valgus of the little toe. Flap nails are just a manifestation, not a genetic condition. It is completely different from single/double eyelids.
