What is nubuck leather?

We often come into contact with matte leather in daily life. Many people don’t know where matte leather comes from. In fact, matte leather is a kind of leather made by people using original leather for a series of processing. Compared with traditional leather, matte leather has better texture and looks more fashionable and generous, so it is deeply loved by young people. The following is a detailed introduction to the relevant knowledge of matte leather.

What is nubuck leather?

Nubuck leather is a kind of leather obtained after processing genuine leather. Nubuck leather is the first or second layer of leather that is polished on the surface of the leather, and the grain scars or rough fibers are abraded to reveal the neat and even leather fiber tissue, and then dyed into various popular colors. It is a matte and corroded leather, similar to frosted glass. Nubuck leather is buffalo leather or cow leather that has been sanded by a leather grinding machine to create a velvety surface. After being used to make shoes, it is more breathable and comfortable to wear, and has a very textured appearance.

What is the difference between frosted leather and flip leather?

1. The original leather of frosted leather can be seen with naked eyes to have damage and defects. In order to look good, it is ground into smooth leather. That is, frosted leather is the top layer of leather that has been polished on the surface of the leather, and the grain scars or rough fibers have been abraded to reveal the neat and uniform leather fiber tissue, and then dyed into various popular colors. It is a matte, corroded leather, similar to frosted glass.

2. Flipped leather is suede leather, which has more than two layers of leather, which is equivalent to turning the leather inside out.

3. Their relationship: The leather is divided into the first layer and the second layer. Suede is a type of second-layer leather, while frosted leather in the general sense is a type of first-layer leather. The second layer of leather is the layer or layers left after separating the first layer of leather. The strength is not as good as the first layer of leather.

4. Their difference: Suede leather has a strong velvety feel, while some matte leather surfaces also have a slight velvety feel (not easy to detect), but overall it is smooth (or has a lychee texture). Because matte leather is the first layer of leather, its firmness and waterproof performance are relatively good, and its price is more than twice that of suede.

Well, that’s all about the difference between matte leather and velvet leather. Matte leather is genuine leather.
