Herb, 10-20cm high. The stamens are nearly disc-shaped, with an umbilical protrusion in the middle, 5 anthers, 10 locules, sessile or nearly sessile; the female inflorescence is ovate to oblong-elliptical, gradually tapering to the apex, 2-6 cm long; the ovary is ovate, with a slender style and a short ovary stalk, clustered near the base of the appendages; the appendages are clavate or obconical, with a truncated tip or slightly raised in the middle of the tip, and suddenly narrowed below the middle to become needle-pointed, about 1 mm long. Flowering period is from September to November.

Pharmacological Action

After mice were inoculated with solid liver cancer H22, they were gavaged with chloroform extract of Herba Lysimachiae 500 mg/(kg·d) the next day for 7 to 10 consecutive days, which had a significant anti-liver cancer effect.
