What to do if bitten by a tick

Because of the hot climate in summer, many people don’t like to stay in a stuffy room. They want to enjoy the cool night breeze at night and feel the rare coolness. However, due to the weather in summer, there will be many insects. These insects love to bite people the most. They especially like to move towards bright places with people. Chiggers are a kind of insect that loves to bite people in summer. So how should you deal with being bitten by chiggers?

The first symptom of scrub typhus is high fever, which patients may easily mistake for a cold and ignore or delay treatment. The bite site of tick larvae is relatively hidden, and the eschar (or ulcer) is difficult to find. In addition, when the patient's medical history is unclear, it is easy to be misdiagnosed.

Therefore, if citizens experience prolonged high fever after outdoor activities and find eschar on the waist, armpits, groin, etc., they should be alert to whether they have scrub typhus and should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

At the same time, citizens are reminded to remember to apply mosquito repellent when visiting parks in summer and autumn, and wear clothes with sleeves and closed sleeves and collars. Try not to enter the grass, do not sit or lie on the grass or touch crops at will. "Keep your home clean and avoid dead corners. Citizens who like to grow flowers and plants should weed, kill insects and rodents frequently, and spray pesticides in places where rodents come and go."

If you are bitten by a chigger, don't panic. The source of infection of scrub typhus disease is rodents, and the medium of transmission is scrub typhus. This disease itself has effective treatment, and as long as it has not reached the level of organ failure, the condition will improve relatively quickly.

01 If you are bitten by a tick when you are outside, go home immediately, prick the bite with a needle, and squeeze out the juice inside. Then apply some alcohol on the wound to effectively disinfect and sterilize it, preventing the scrub typhus virus from continuing to infect other healthy skin.

02 You can also take some medications orally, such as taking doxycycline orally every day, about 0.1 gram each time. During the oral administration, you should pay attention to taking it at regular times and in fixed amounts. Take it once every two days and then persist in taking it for four weeks. It has obvious effects in treating and relieving scrub typhus.

03During the treatment, be sure to rest in bed and avoid overwork. You can also use some heat-clearing and detoxifying drugs to help clear viruses from the body. The therapeutic effect is achieved by enhancing the body's immunity.
