Scratched by rusty iron and bleeding

Iron is easy to rust. If you are accidentally scratched by rusty iron, you need to deal with it in time, especially disinfect it. Otherwise, it is very likely that the injured person will suffer from tetanus. After being scratched by rusty iron, it can generally be treated by rinsing with clean water, inhibiting bacteria with saline, using antibiotics, applying iodine tincture and some other methods. Here we will introduce the specific processing methods!

We often see various ironware in daily life, but exposed to wind, sun and rain every day, they will rust over time, and even the iron sheet will fall off and face outward, which can easily scratch people. If not handled properly, it is easy to get surgical diseases such as tetanus.

1. Rinse with clean water

First, rinse the wound with clean water and wash away the external mud and dust to prevent bacterial growth. During the cleaning process, try to expand the wound area as much as possible, because Clostridium tetani is an anaerobic bacterium and it is not easy to reproduce in an environment with sufficient oxygen. (Of course, if you have an oxygen tank nearby, you can try spraying a large amount of oxygen into the wound.)

2. Physiological saline antibacterial

The second step is to clean the wound with normal saline (if not available, use light salt water). Normal saline has an antibacterial effect and can prevent the spread of Clostridium tetani and its impact on the body. Use this as an emergency measure before reaching the hospital.

3. Use of antibiotics

The third step is to use antibiotic disinfectants, if available, on wounds cut by rusty iron as an emergency measure. If oral antibiotics are available, they can be taken as an emergency measure. Be sure to prepare emergency measures before arriving at the hospital.

4. Apply iodine

The fourth step, if conditions permit, you can also apply iodine or other disinfectants on the wound, then cover the wound with a clean cloth, bandage it lightly, and then go to the hospital for the next step of treatment.

5. Other matters needing attention

For some large wounds, you can first press the wound with a clean cloth and then go to the hospital for treatment quickly.

Timely and reasonable debridement can reduce bacterial infection and eliminate the anaerobic environment, so as to be unfavorable to the growth and reproduction of tetanus bacteria and cut off the source of toxins.

After taking preventive measures, sometimes no systemic symptoms may occur, and only local tetanus may occur. To achieve preventive effect.

Try to be in a quiet environment, which is conducive to the development of the treatment of the disease.
