How to quickly eliminate orbital congestion

How to quickly eliminate orbital congestion

People may think that if there is bruising under the eye socket, using hot water compresses will be better. In fact, this is not the case. If there is congestion in the eye sockets, you must remember that you cannot use hot water compresses within 72 hours, as it will cause capillaries to burst and make the condition more serious. Therefore, if there is bruising in the eye socket, applying ice or cold water to the bruised area will be more effective.

Congestion caused by rupture of capillaries under the skin (around the eyes, that is, eyelids). Generally speaking, it will gradually disappear as the capillaries absorb blood. Cold compress is needed in the early stage, and hot compress can be applied after 72 hours. Hot compress will dilate the capillaries of the eyelids and accelerate the absorption of blood. However, hot compress is not recommended for subconjunctival hemorrhage.

1. Venous compression causes the lumen to narrow or occlude, obstructing blood return and leading to congestion of organs and tissues in the corresponding areas. For example, venous congestion in the lower limbs caused by compression of the iliac vein by the pregnant uterus.

2. Obstruction of the venous lumen is common in venous thrombosis. Due to the large number of venous branches, venous congestion only occurs when the venous lumen is blocked and blood cannot flow back through the collaterals.

3. When heart failure, mitral valve disease and essential hypertension cause left heart failure, it can lead to pulmonary congestion. When cor pulmonale leads to right heart failure, it can cause congestion in organs such as the liver, kidneys and lower limbs, causing systemic circulation congestion.

2. Pathological changes of blood stasis

Naked eye: Due to the obstruction of venous return, blood accumulates in the dilated small veins and capillaries, so the volume of congested organs and tissues increases; due to the slow blood flow and lack of oxygen in the congested area, the oxygenated hemoglobin decreases and the reduced hemoglobin increases, so the congested organs appear dark red.

Metabolism: When venous congestion occurs, organs and tissues cannot obtain sufficient oxygen and nutrients, which reduces tissue metabolic rate, reduces heat production, and lowers the temperature of the congested area on the body surface; the congested tissues are relatively hypoxic and their metabolic functions are weakened.

Under light microscopy: small veins and capillaries are dilated and filled, bleeding and interstitial edema can be seen.
