How to make a homemade barbecue grill

1. Prepare materials

1 aluminum drum with approximately 30 gallons of capacity

2 50cm metal grill racks

1 metal grill thermometer

4 60cm stainless steel rods

1 metal basin

1 electric drill and 3/8" drill bit

1. Drilling holes

Drill four holes at equal distances 60 cm above the bottom of the barrel; also drill four holes on the barrel lid for air circulation. Next, drill four holes 30 cm from the bottom. If the circumference of the barrel is regarded as a clock, two of the holes are at 1 o'clock and 5 o'clock, and the other two are at 7 o'clock and 11 o'clock. Next, rise 20 cm from the horizontal position of these four holes and drill four more holes in the same way. What is made is a three-layer barbecue grill: the bottom layer is used to store coal and charcoal, the middle layer is used to store water basins, and the top layer is used to store meat. Finally, drill a hole in the middle of the bucket to insert the thermometer.

2. Set up the barbecue grill

Tilt the first grill into the barrel. Next, insert two stainless steel rods through the four holes on the second layer and place the metal basin on top. The basin not only increases the moisture in the barbecue grill, but also catches the oil that falls from it. Then, insert the remaining two rods through the four holes on the top layer, and then place the last layer of grill racks.

3. Observe the temperature

Insert the thermometer into the hole in the middle of the bucket. The ideal temperature is generally between 200 and 300 degrees, so temperature control is very critical. "The faster the air circulates, the hotter the fire will be" and "Air circulation is crucial to grilling." Therefore, when the temperature is too high, use a plug to block the air circulation hole, and then pull out the plug after the temperature drops.
