Pain in the waist as if it is broken is usually called "low back pain". How should you go to the hospital to register if you suffer from low back pain? Should you go to the internal medicine department, surgery department, or gynecology department? To this end, we should make a rough classification of low back pain, and then discuss the issues of how to register one by one.

1) Classification and common diseases According to the cause of low back pain, it can be divided into the following types:

1. Low back pain caused by spinal diseases is common in rheumatoid spondylitis, bone hyperplasia, tuberculous spondylitis, spinal trauma and intervertebral disc herniation.

2. Low back pain caused by paraspinal soft tissue lesions is common in lumbar muscle strain and myofasciitis.

3. Low back pain caused by spinal nerve root disease is common in spinal cord compression, acute myelitis and radiculitis.

4. Low back pain caused by visceral diseases is common in nephritis, urinary tract infection, urinary tract stones, cholecystitis, gallstones, pancreatitis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, prostatitis, endometritis, adnexitis and pelvic inflammatory disease.

2) How to register for medical treatment

1. Orthopedics: Patients with a history of trauma (including sprains, contusions, impact injuries, etc.) who experience sudden severe pain in the lower back and are unable to stand or walk in severe cases should be considered to have acute lumbar trauma or herniated disc and should go to the orthopedics department for treatment. If you have no history of trauma but your lower back pain is movement-related, you should also see an orthopedic specialist.

2. Nephrology: Patients with no history of trauma and low back pain that is not related to activity, mostly low back pain, accompanied by facial and lower limb edema, worse in the morning, oliguria and hypertension, should go to the Nephrology Department for treatment. Patients with low back pain accompanied by frequent, urgent, and painful urination should also visit the nephrology department.

3. Urology: Patients with sudden onset of low back pain radiating along the ureter to the lower abdomen, accompanied by hematuria and oliguria should be referred to the urology department.

4. Department of Gastroenterology: Patients with mainly abdominal pain radiating to the waist and back, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, acid reflux, abdominal distension and other digestive tract symptoms should go to the Department of Gastroenterology for treatment.
