What is the cause of enuresis during menopause

We always hope that our children will take care of our parents while they are still alive, but we have not paid enough attention to the comprehensive conditioning of the physical condition of the middle-aged and elderly people in our family during menopause. Some of them, in addition to experiencing various menopausal syndromes, will also experience urine leakage when they sneeze or uncontrollable urine discharge during exercise, which makes people feel embarrassed and difficult to talk about. So what is the cause of menopausal enuresis? How should it be treated?

Causes of enuresis during menopause

1. Mental factors. Due to work stress, high pressure, anxiety or neurotic bladder and other problems, the bladder muscles may react allergically, resulting in the inability to control bladder contractions, thus causing urinary incontinence.

2. After menopause, women's estrogen levels decrease, causing the urethral mucosa to become thinner and its tension to decrease.

3. As you get older, abdominal fat accumulates and increased abdominal pressure creates greater pressure on the bladder.

4. The body is too fat. As women age and have more fat accumulated in their bodies, greater pressure is placed on the bladder, resulting in urinary incontinence.

6. Racial factors: A large-scale survey shows that Asians have a higher rate of urinary incontinence than Europeans.

7. Surgical injuries directly damage the pelvic floor muscles and nerves, such as surgery for cerebral cortical diseases (stroke, dementia, etc.) that damage the urethral sphincter or pelvic nerves.

8. If there is a problem with the human body's urinary organs, symptoms such as frequent urination, urgent urination, painful urination, and urinary incontinence will occur. Urethritis, cystitis, pyelonephritis, etc. can cause urinary incontinence. Pus cells or a large number of white blood cells can be found under the urine microscope. In severe cases, there are symptoms of systemic infection and poisoning.

9. If you have frequent urination and a large amount of urine each time, but no other symptoms, you should first pay attention to whether you drink too much water, especially those who like sugary drinks are prone to urinary incontinence.

10. If you have frequent urination accompanied by a large amount of urine, and you also feel thirsty, drink more, and lose weight, you should check your urine. If the urine contains sugar, you should consider diabetes. If there is no sugar in the urine but the specific gravity is low, you should think of diabetes insipidus.

Treatment

1. It can be relieved and cured without taking medicine. That's pelvic floor muscle training. In daily life, you can continuously contract your pelvic floor muscles every day, which is also the action of contracting your anus. Each movement lasts for two seconds, then pause for a few seconds and repeat this ten times. If you keep training every day, you will see results after a period of time.

2. In terms of medication, you can choose adrenaline receptor agonists to stimulate the smooth muscles of the female urethra, thereby helping to solve the problem of female urinary incontinence. However, there are certain side effects, such as headaches or cold limbs. If severe, it can cause cerebral stroke. If the threat of side effects is eliminated, it can be used in combination with the first method.

3. If the above two methods are ineffective, or if the urinary incontinence is so severe that it affects the quality of life, you may wish to try surgery. This treatment method is less harmful to the human body and is more effective, but there is a small chance of bladder damage or urinary retention.

Tips

If a man has stress urinary incontinence, it can be treated with a male sling surgery. Or it can be treated with pelvic floor muscle training. But the effect is generally not very obvious.
