Many people choose not to eat breakfast in the morning to lose weight, but this is actually a big mistake. Skipping breakfast will make you gain weight more easily. Because I don’t eat breakfast, I will feel very hungry in the morning when I go to school, work or labor. At lunch time, I will definitely eat more to make up for breakfast. Sometimes I will also eat more at dinner because I consider not eating the next morning. These two meals will eat more than three meals a day combined. In addition to making you fat, this article also introduces other dangers.

1. Harm to the brain. Although the weight of brain tissue only accounts for 2-3% of human body weight, the brain's blood flow is about 800 ml per minute, oxygen consumption is about 45 ml per minute, and sugar consumption is about 5 grams per hour. The brain tissue of teenagers is in the development stage, and their demand for blood, oxygen and glucose is higher than that of adults. If blood sugar is too low, brain consciousness activities will be impaired. If this continues for a long time, it will inevitably affect the weight and morphological development of the brain.

2. Harm to the digestive system. Under normal circumstances, the food eaten the night before is emptied from the stomach into the intestines after about six hours. If you don’t eat breakfast the next day, gastric acid and various digestive enzymes in the stomach will “digest” the gastric mucosa. If things go on like this for a long time, the normal function of cells to secrete mucus will be destroyed, which can easily cause digestive system diseases such as gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer.

3. It causes arteriosclerosis and is more likely to lead to obesity. Many teenage students do not eat breakfast because they are afraid of gaining weight. There is no scientific basis for this practice. The human body has a standard demand for calories. If you skip breakfast, you will inevitably increase your food intake for lunch and dinner. After dinner, people generally do less exercise, which makes it easier for fat to accumulate and lead to obesity. In addition, skipping breakfast for a long time will cause cholesterol and lipoprotein to deposit in the inner walls of blood vessels, leading to vascular sclerosis.

4. Makes you slow to react: Breakfast is the source of energy for brain activity. If you skip breakfast, your body cannot supply enough blood sugar for consumption and you will feel tired, exhausted, unable to concentrate, lack of energy and slow to react.

5. Chronic diseases may occur: If you skip breakfast and start the day's work with an empty stomach, your body will mobilize glands such as the thyroid, parathyroid, and pituitary gland to burn tissues in order to obtain energy. This will not only cause hyperfunction of the glands, but will also make your body acidic and lead to chronic diseases.

6. The stomach and intestines may "rebel": skipping breakfast and eating until noon will cause the stomach to be hungry for a long time, which will cause excessive secretion of gastric acid, thus easily causing gastritis and gastric ulcers.

7. Constipation "comes out": When three meals are eaten on time, the gastrocolic reflex phenomenon will naturally occur in the human body, which simply means it promotes defecation. If skipping breakfast becomes a habit, it may cause gastrocolic reflex disorders in the long term, thus causing constipation.

8. It will make you closer to obesity: Once the human body realizes that nutrition is deficient, the first thing it consumes is carbohydrates and proteins, and the last thing it consumes is fat. So don’t think that skipping breakfast will help burn fat. On the contrary, skipping breakfast will cause you to eat more at lunch and dinner, which will make you fatter instead of losing weight.
