Is it good to always do ultrasound during pregnancy?

Most women have had the experience of doing B-ultrasound. For example, some women inexplicably develop some gynecological symptoms and then need to go to the hospital for a gynecological examination. At this time, B-ultrasound is usually required. In addition to the traditional black and white B-ultrasound, there is now a more advanced three-dimensional color ultrasound. Although the price of three-dimensional color ultrasound is more expensive, the examination effect will be much better. Women also need to do B-ultrasound examinations regularly after they become pregnant. Is it good for pregnant women to do B-ultrasound frequently?

Is it good to always do ultrasound during pregnancy?

It is not advisable to perform frequent B-ultrasound examinations during pregnancy, as it is not conducive to the growth and development of the fetus.

In order to ensure that the baby is healthy in the belly, many pregnant mothers will regularly do B-ultrasound examinations. However, a survey shows that the fetal development of those who have done B-ultrasound examinations more than 5 times during the entire pregnancy is very different from that of those who have done B-ultrasound examinations 3 times. Too many B-ultrasound examinations can cause the fetus to be suppressed to varying degrees.

Generally speaking, it is best to have three ultrasound examinations during the entire pregnancy, one after 12 weeks of pregnancy, one at 5-6 months of pregnancy, and the last one at the time of delivery. If there are any abnormal conditions during the period, specific analysis is required and an ultrasound examination can be performed under the doctor's arrangement.

It should be noted that you should never do an ultrasound examination just to see the sex of the fetus, because identifying the sex of the fetus requires irradiating a certain part of the fetus for a long time, which may produce some effects and cause harm to the fetus.

It is not good to do B-ultrasound frequently during pregnancy.

From the perspective of B-ultrasound principles, B-ultrasound is ultrasonic transmission. There is no ionizing radiation and electromagnetic radiation. It is a sound wave transmission, which does not cause any harm to human tissue.

However, this does not mean that ultrasound examinations can be performed at will throughout the pregnancy without any restrictions on time and frequency. Experts point out that how many times ultrasounds are needed during pregnancy depends on the specific situation. Under normal circumstances, expectant mothers should have ultrasounds about 3 times during pregnancy, and no more than 5 times.

As we all know, the early stage of pregnancy is extremely critical and it is also the stage when expectant mothers are most cautious. Some expectant mothers are particularly nervous about their babies and often undergo B-ultrasounds in the early stages of pregnancy to ensure the safety of the baby. So will frequent ultrasounds in early pregnancy affect the baby? Doing too many ultrasounds in early pregnancy will definitely be harmful to the fetus. Doing B too often in the early stages of pregnancy can have side effects on the baby, harm the fragile embryo, and cause the baby to develop poorly, become deformed, or even have stillbirth.

For most people, it is not necessary to have an ultrasound in the early stages of pregnancy, and just one ultrasound is really enough. Generally speaking, ultrasound is only required for pregnant women who are more than 7 or 8 weeks pregnant. Only in special circumstances, such as abdominal pain, a history of miscarriage, etc., will doctors allow pregnant women to undergo additional B-ultrasounds.
