The efficacy and effects of ginsenosides

Ginseng can be said to be a medicinal herb that everyone is very familiar with. Many people know the value and price of ginseng. Although everyone is familiar with ginseng, less and less people know about ginsenosides. In fact, ginsenoside is also a product with rich medicinal and nutritional value. Ginsenosides are mainly purified products, so they are relatively expensive. So, what are the effects and functions of ginsenosides?

Effects of Ginsenosides

Ginsenoside is a sterol compound and a triterpenoid saponin. It is mainly found in ginseng medicinal materials. Ginsenosides are considered to be the active ingredients in ginseng and have therefore become the target of research. Because ginsenosides affect multiple metabolic pathways, their efficacy is complex, and the monomer components of various ginsenosides are difficult to separate.

In the United States, ginseng preparations are classified as dietary supplements; but in Europe, especially in Germany, ginseng is regarded as a medicine. In several European countries, ginseng and other herbs are prescribed by doctors, and the principles of plant medicine are once again being taught in medical schools. In a special publication of Commission E, which sets standards for the safety and efficacy of medicinal herbs, the German government recognizes ginseng as a tonic for fatigue and weakness. There are many extractions of total ginsenosides in China, but few extractions of ginsenoside monomers, because the technical difficulty is relatively high. Currently, there are very few companies in China that have the conditions to produce ginsenoside monomers. If you buy monomer products, it is generally recommended to check whether it is total ginsenosides or monomer saponins marked on the product manual.

Effects of ginsenosides. Induce apoptosis of cancer cells: Cell apoptosis is an active physiological process, just like the blooming and falling of flowers. Under normal circumstances, cell proliferation and apoptosis always maintain a dynamic balance with increases and decreases, and this dynamic balance can maintain normal and stable cell proliferation. When certain factors cause uncontrolled cell proliferation and obstruction of cell apoptosis, it can lead to abnormal cell proliferation and cancer; Enhance the body's immunity: Dysregulation or low human immune function is one of the main causes of cancer. Chemotherapy drugs or radiation therapy used during cancer treatment can further destroy the body's immune function. Ginsenosides used alone can effectively regulate the human immune function. When used after surgery or during radiotherapy or chemotherapy, it can effectively protect immune organs and enhance immune function.

Improve immunity: Immunity is our own natural defense barrier. If the immune system is out of balance, the immune surveillance function will lose its function and cannot eliminate mutated cells, which is also one of the causes of tumors. Ginsenoside rh2 can regulate and enhance the body's immunity through various pathways and has a protective effect on the immune system; Relieve the effects of toxins: In the process of treating tumors, it is found that the failure of cancer chemotherapy is often related to a certain degree of drug resistance of chemotherapy drugs. General chemotherapy drugs are not easy to enter cancer cells. The p-glycoprotein in cancer cells can excrete chemotherapy drugs, causing cancer cells to develop poor resistance to chemotherapy drugs. Ginseng saponins have both hydrophilic and lipophilic properties and can easily enter the nucleus of cancer cells to kill cancer cells.
