Those fruits can be put in the refrigerator

There are various varieties of fruits, and there are different fruits to eat and choose in every season of the year. In addition, because of the diverse taste, sweet, sweet and sour, clear and juicy, rich in vitamins and nutrients, healthy and delicious, and meet the needs of different people. Therefore, it has become an indispensable existence in life besides vegetables. Eating some fruits after hot pot and spare ribs can relieve greasiness. Eating some fruits half an hour before meals can moisturize the intestines and lose weight. The freshness of fruits is very important. Every time I buy vegetables, I like to stock up some fruits at home and put them in the refrigerator so that I can eat them at any time. But can all fruits be put in the refrigerator?

For refrigerators, the temperature of the refrigerator compartment is generally around 4°C, but this is not suitable for all fruits, and different fruits need to be treated differently. Some fruits cannot be put into the refrigerator too early: tropical fruits are very sensitive to low temperature environments and cannot accept them for a while, so such fruits cannot be put into the refrigerator directly after purchase.

For example, the fruits that are popular at this stage include pineapples, bananas, papayas, mangoes, avocados, etc. These fruits are mostly expensive. It is recommended to store them in a cool, dark environment at home and wait until they are slightly ripe before eating them.

Some fruits need to be ripe before being put into the refrigerator: Temperate fruits need to be ripe before being put into the refrigerator. If they are not ripe, putting them in the refrigerator will inhibit their ripening. Therefore, fruits such as apples, pears and peaches should be put into the refrigerator after they are ripe.

Some fruits need to be put into the refrigerator directly after buying: For some specific fruits, such as strawberries, lychees, mulberries, grapes, mangosteens, etc., if you can't eat them, please put them in the refrigerator as soon as possible.

Mango is one of the most difficult fruits to keep fresh. Do not place mangoes in a place with too high or too low temperature, and do not let it be subjected to heavy pressure. The best storage temperature for mangoes is around 10℃-13℃. If the temperature is below 8℃, the skin will turn black. Therefore, mangoes are best stored in a dark, cool place. If they must be placed in the refrigerator, they should be placed in a vegetable and fruit slot with a higher temperature, and the storage time should not exceed two days. Some mangoes that are not ripe when you buy them are less cold-resistant, so it is best not to put them in the refrigerator. Otherwise, not only will they fail to mature properly, they will also rot and become inedible.

Mangosteen is very easy to deteriorate. If you want to keep it for a longer time, you must ensure low temperature and low oxygen. Generally speaking, tropical fruits cannot be stored in the refrigerator, but mangosteen is different. Because low temperature can reduce the loss of water in mangosteen, reduce the activity of pectinase and delay aging, mangosteen should be refrigerated in the refrigerator.

In addition, keeping it sealed as much as possible to reduce the invasion of oxygen is also a key to preserving freshness. In general, put the mangosteen into a plastic bag, leave a small amount of air, tie the bag tightly, and refrigerate it. It can be stored for a few more days.

The flesh of ripe papaya is very soft and difficult to preserve, so it should be eaten immediately after purchase. If you do not plan to eat it immediately after purchase, it is recommended to choose papaya that is not yet completely yellow and is slightly green. Leave it for 1 to 2 days after returning home, then wrap it in a plastic bag and refrigerate it. It can be stored for up to about 4 to 5 days. The most suitable storage temperature for papaya is around 7°C. It is best to eat the cut papaya all at once. If you can’t finish it, be sure to seal the cut with plastic wrap, then put it in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator. The storage time should not exceed two days.
