The flesh of ripe papaya is very soft and difficult to preserve, so it should be eaten immediately after purchase. If you do not plan to eat it immediately after purchase, it is recommended to choose papaya that is not yet completely yellow and is slightly green. Leave it for 1 to 2 days after returning home, then wrap it in a plastic bag and refrigerate it. It can be stored for up to about 4 to 5 days. The most suitable storage temperature for papaya is around 7°C. It is best to eat the cut papaya all at once.
