Is hair a connective tissue?

Everyone usually takes care of their hair, especially women, who use various hair care products that they think are effective. But in fact, people don’t know much about hair, especially its biological composition. If you want to take care of your hair, in addition to using conditioner, you can also start with food. So, is hair connective tissue?

Hair is not connective tissue.

Hair is a special tissue formed by the keratinization of keratinocytes in the epidermis.

Connective tissue: It is one of the basic tissues in most vertebrates. In short, it is the filling material of most organisms.

It is composed of cells, fibers, and extracellular matrix. Fibers play a connecting and supporting role in multicellular animals. Outside the cells there is a large amount of "stroma" composed of fibers and matrix, which is the most common component in connective tissue.

Connective tissue has a strong regenerative ability, and wound healing is mostly accomplished through its proliferation. It is divided into loose connective tissue, dense connective tissue, adipose tissue, etc. Connective tissue appears later than epithelial tissue.

Connective tissue originates from the mesenchyme of the mesoderm. Hide glue is collagen extracted from animal connective tissue. As the body ages, the cross-links between collagen fibers increase and the water content of the matrix decreases, which may affect the operation of metabolic substances.

Hair refers to the hair that grows on the head. Hair is not an organ, so it does not contain nerves and blood vessels, but it does contain cells.

. In addition to making people more beautiful, hair is mainly used to protect the head. Soft and fluffy hair is elastic, can withstand lighter collisions, and can also help the evaporation of sweat on the head. The average person has about 100,000 hairs. Among all the hairs, head hair is the longest, especially on women with long hair. Some can grow to 90-100cm, or even 150cm, but generally do not exceed 200cm.

Hair color is generally determined by genes, with common colors being black, blond, brown and red. As humans age, their hair often turns silver. Due to different races and regions, hair can be black, golden, reddish brown, reddish brown, light yellow, gray, and even green and red. You can also dye your hair into a variety of colors by dyeing it. Scientific research has proven that hair color is related to the different metal elements contained in the hair. Black hair contains equal amounts of copper, iron and melanin, and when the nickel content increases, it turns gray. Blonde hair contains titanium, reddish-brown hair contains molybdenum, reddish-brown hair contains cobalt in addition to copper and iron, and green hair contains too much copper. In some African countries, some children have red hair, which is caused by severe protein deficiency.
