What are the dangers of manicure

Nails are mainly used to protect the hard area at the tip of a person's finger, and the color of nails is mainly transparent. Modern women pursue higher levels of refinement and fashion in life, and often get their nails done. However, manicures generally involve applying something called nail polish on the nails, and nail polish is made up of many toxic chemicals. So what harm does frequent manicures have on the human body?

1. Easily spread diseases such as tinea manuum, onychomycosis, paronychia, hepatitis, etc.

The hygiene of nail tools is a major health hazard. The manicure tools provided by the shop to customers are not clean; the towels, tweezers, scissors and other tools used are not "changed and disinfected for each customer"; the operation site and manicure tools are not disinfected and the hygiene does not meet the standards. It is easy to be infected with diseases such as tinea manuum, onychomycosis, paronychia, hepatitis, etc. during manicure.

2. Can cause miscarriage and teratogenesis

Nail polish generally contains a substance called "phthalate", which is likely to cause fetal malformation and miscarriage. It enters the human body through the skin, respiratory tract and digestive tract, accumulates in fat tissue and is not easily excreted. Long-term use by pregnant women may cause genital malformations in the fetus.

3. Acrylic nails develop mold

The texture of crystal powder can be good or bad. If crystal powder with poor air permeability is used and the manicurist is not very skilled, the bubbles and gaps formed on the nails will become a breeding ground for bacteria. For a period of time after having crystal nails, the fingernails are prone to inflammation, which may cause itching at a mild level or redness and swelling at a severe level. It is very likely that mold will grow after having crystal nails.

4. Risk of cancer

Nail polish contains a chemical called phthalate, which is present in high levels and plays a major role in softening the nail polish. This substance enters the human body through the respiratory system and skin. If used excessively, it will increase the risk of breast cancer in women. Nearly 90% of carcinogenic nail polishes have no Chinese logo on their packaging and labels. The most prominent problem with these substandard nail polishes is the use of banned pigments, which contain a large amount of fluorescent agents that may cause cancer. In addition, many of the cuticle polishes and nail strengtheners used for manicures have unclear ingredients and may also contain toxic substances. Since nails can easily absorb foreign substances, long-term use of nail polish containing excessive amounts of heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, mercury, and benzene may cause chronic poisoning or even cancer.
