Does gout metastasis mean it has worsened?

Does gout metastasis mean it has worsened?

If gout metastasizes, it means that the symptoms have worsened. In fact, gout will not metastasize, it just means that gout has spread, which often leads to an increase in the number of painful areas. It will also aggravate joint deformities and may even cause problems with the patient's kidney function. The frequency of patients' illnesses tends to increase, and the location of gout will also worsen with blood circulation. Let us take a look.

1. Increased number of gout sites

Uric acid in the human body flows with the blood. Under normal circumstances, uric acid is easily soluble in the blood. However, when the uric acid concentration in the body is too high, uric acid cannot reach the point of dissolution, which will cause uric acid to deposit in the blood and form uric acid crystals.

As blood flows through joints throughout the body, urate crystals also flow and travel throughout the body. Therefore, gout may occur in joints throughout the body (toes, ankles, knees, elbows, etc.). When you feel an increase in the number of gout areas, it is a sign that the uric acid crystals in your body are increasing and your gout is getting worse.

2. Increased duration and frequency of attacks

As uric acid levels rise and gout worsens, the frequency of pain attacks will increase, from a few times a year, once every few months to several times a month, and finally to long-term joint pain.

3. Small nodules appear in the joints

If the uric acid concentration is too high and cannot be metabolized normally, it will lead to an increase in uric acid crystals. These crystals will be deposited in the soft tissue to form small nodules, which will cause obvious bulges on the skin surface. This is generally called tophi.

4. Kidney disease

Uric acid is mainly metabolized out of the body through the kidneys. When there is too much uric acid or it is not metabolized smoothly, it will cause waste to accumulate in the kidneys, leading to renal failure, kidney disease, etc., and in severe cases, it can lead to death.

One trick can lower uric acid and relieve gout

There is a prescription recorded in the medical book "Qian Jin Yao Fang" - chicory and gardenia tea, which has the effects of dispelling wind and dampness, promoting blood circulation and dredging menstruation, detoxifying and treating various types of arthritis. It can cure the root cause by lowering blood uric acid and treat the symptoms by curing arthritis.

The recipe of chicory and gardenia tea is: chicory, gardenia, kudzu root, mulberry leaf, lily, 10g each of chicory and gardenia, 5g each of the rest. Boil in water and drink, 3 times a day. You can also make tea bags.
