Where is the root of the nose

Where is the root of the nose

The nose is located in the center of the human face, so the appearance and height of the nose have a great impact on a person's facial beauty. I believe you have often heard that the evaluation of a person's nose is to refer to the height of his nasal root. Many people also have their nasal roots raised when they go for rhinoplasty. However, most people don’t know where the root of the nose is exactly on the face. Today, let me introduce to you where the root of the nose is on the human face.

The root of the nose is the part between the two orbits at the upper end of the nose bridge.

The nasion point is located at the upper part of the nose, which is the intersection of the frontonasal suture and the midsagittal plane. This measurement point is easier to determine in individuals with a very prominent brow. Determination method: Place the thumb and index finger on the root of the nose (slightly above the most concave part of the nose bridge), touch the bone joint on the outside of the root of the nose with the index finger, and then find this side point from the horizontal midline.

Overview

In the past, some scholars have used eyebrows as the basis for determining the root of the nose. However, since the position and development of eyebrows vary from person to person, there is a large gap between the actual position of eyebrows and the root of the nose. Therefore, it is not feasible to determine the position of the nasal root by eyebrows.

Common diseases

rhinitis

Inflammatory lesions of the nasal mucosa can be divided into acute and chronic. Acute rhinitis is the most common, commonly known as "cold", also known as the common cold, but it is different from the flu. It often occurs in autumn, winter and spring. The cause is generally believed to be a virus and is transmitted by droplets. At the beginning of the disease, the patient will feel generally unwell and have a dry nose, followed by nasal congestion, sneezing, watery or mucous secretions, and may also have systemic symptoms such as fever. Treatment is rest, drinking plenty of fluids and symptomatic treatment. Topical nasal drops can be used and sulfonamides or antibiotics can be taken. For prevention, patients should be isolated, people should avoid going to public places during the epidemic period, and they should pay attention to physical exercise and do more outdoor activities. The main symptoms of chronic rhinitis are nasal obstruction and more viscous secretions. Treatment includes local drops, injections, surgery, freezing, laser and other therapies depending on the severity of the lesion. It is more difficult to treat patients with nasal congestion, pus crust formation in the nasal cavity, dry throat, and headache who are diagnosed with atrophic rhinitis after examination. There are many general treatment methods, such as nasal irrigation, endocrine therapy, application of antibiotics, blockade therapy and surgical treatment, which can improve symptoms.

Inflammatory lesions of the nasal mucosa are collectively called rhinitis. It can be caused by physical, chemical, biological factors, such as long-term cold stimulation, or alternating stimulation of excessive cold and heat, long-term congestion in the head lowered position, excessive smoke and dust stimulation, long-term stimulation by acids, alkalis or chemicals and certain poisons, viruses, bacteria, fungi, spirochetes, etc. There are acute and chronic types. In acute cases, the nasal mucosa is congested and edematous, accompanied by low fever and increased secretions; in chronic cases, the nasal mucosa is thickened or atrophied, and may be accompanied by ventilation disorders. Treatment: Eliminate the cause of the disease, use appropriate nebulization inhalation, treat the symptoms, etc.

Refers to inflammation of the nasal mucosa. Because the nasal mucosa is continuous with the sinus mucosa, rhinitis often affects the sinuses to varying degrees, causing inflammation of one or more parts of the maxillary sinus, frontal sinus, ethmoid sinus, etc. Symptoms include nasal congestion, runny nose, headache, pain or tenderness in the corresponding inflamed sinuses, and may also affect the upper respiratory tract inflammation. According to the cause, it can be divided into seven categories: infectious, allergic, drug-induced, structural (due to deviated nasal septum), vasomotor, autonomic nervous system, and rhinitis caused by malnutrition, physical weakness, anemia, and smoking; according to the course of the disease, it can be divided into acute and chronic; according to pathological changes, it can be divided into hypertrophic, simple, and atrophic rhinitis. The latter is also called "stinky nose syndrome" and can affect the pharynx and larynx.
