Speaking of water monkeys, many people don't know what they are and may think they are water ghosts. But in fact, water monkey is a skin disease, commonly known as molluscum contagiosum. This is a highly contagious disease that is usually spread through skin contact. For this disease, it is often treated by applying ointments, and in serious cases other methods will be used. 1. Local treatment: ⑴ Under sterile conditions, prick the top of molluscum contagiosum, you can see the cheese-like molluscum bodies, then gently squeeze them out with tweezers. Or you can directly use tweezers to clamp the wart and pull it out, then apply 2%-2.5% iodine tincture and apply pressure to stop the bleeding. If there are a large number of them, after disinfecting the skin lesions, puncture the molluscum and apply 5%-10% iodine tincture once a day. They will dry and fall off within 7 days. ⑵ Phthalide cream has antiviral effects. Apply it to the surface of warts 2 to 3 times a day for 3 weeks. If the molluscum warts cannot be eliminated after the treatment, they should be scraped or extracted. ⑶ Apply 1% 5-fluorouracil solution externally, 2 to 3 times a day for 2 weeks. When using, dip a cotton swab in a small amount of liquid medicine and apply it directly to the top of the wart. ⑷0.1% vitamin A acid solution for external use, twice a day, for 2 weeks. Be careful to protect the surrounding skin. ⑸For local application of 70% phenol alcohol, use a small syringe filled with the medicine to apply the medicine to the skin lesions one by one, preferably in the center of the wart. Generally, two treatments are sufficient for one wart, and the lesions will fall off on their own after 10 days. ⑹Liquid nitrogen freezing: use a freezer to spray liquid nitrogen on the surface of the wart and thaw it 3 times. The warts usually fall off after 1 week. ⑺Dip a little concentrated Lysol on a sterilized bamboo stick and apply it directly to the surface of the wart. For larger rashes, remove the small bodies of molluscum contagiosum before treatment. Repeat after 10 days. ⑻Add 15 ml of 99% glacial acetic acid into 20 g of edible flour, mix well into a paste, and apply to the warts. Generally, systemic medication is not required. If the rash is too severe, you can try the following: 1. Antiviral: ① Ribavirin 0.2, intramuscular injection twice a day; ② Polyinosin 2 mg, intramuscular injection once every other day; ③ Virulin 0.2, Cimetidine 0.2, orally 3 times a day. 2. Promote immunity: Take levamisole 50 mg orally 3 times a day for 3 consecutive days, followed by an 11-day break. 2. TCM treatment of molluscum contagiosum ⑴ Take a small amount of realgar, add it to white wine, and apply it on the surface of the wart. Take once a day for 5 consecutive days. ⑵ Stemona tincture. Soak 30g of Stemona japonica in 100mL of 75% alcohol for one week, and then apply the liquid to the surface of the wart. Take twice a day for 10 days. ⑶ 30g of safflower, 10g of psoralea corylifolia, 10g of dried ginger, 15g of Evodia rutaecarpa, 10g of camphor, and 30g of raw pinellia; soak in 1000mL of 75% alcohol for 1 week, filter out the residue and apply it to the affected area. Take twice a day for 10 days. ⑷ Portulaca oleracea 30g, Atractylodes 10g, Beehive 10g, Sophora flavescens 10g, Realgar 10g; decoct in water until warm, and scrub the affected area. This method is suitable for patients with widespread itching or secondary eczema. ⑸ Crush 40g of Brucea javanica with the shell, then bottle it, add 80mL of water, boil it, and take 40mL of liquid. When using, apply it on the wart with a cotton swab. ⑹ 30g of Isatis root, 10g of Glauber's salt, 10g of safflower, 30g of raw coix seed, 30g of purslane, decocted in water and taken orally. This prescription has the effects of clearing away heat, detoxifying and resisting viruses, and is particularly useful for those with widespread skin lesions. ⑺ 30g of Purslane and 30g of Taraxacum, decoct in water and use to wash the affected area. Once a day, 20 minutes each time. Use small tweezers to clamp the small bodies of molluscum in the lesion, squeeze or pick them out, then apply concentrated carbolic acid or trichloroacetic acid, and apply pressure to stop bleeding; it can also be scraped off with a scraper and applied with 2% iodine; or 0.1% retinoic acid alcohol can be applied topically. Others can be electro-desiccated, frozen with liquid nitrogen or dry ice, and large warts can be surgically removed. Sex partners should be treated simultaneously. |
