ADHD Medications

ADHD Medications

ADHD is a disease that is caused by local limitations and can disappear naturally with age. Some ADHD can be cured, but most ADHD may continue to be delayed, so there is a clear gap between early treatment and treatment. At present, there are drugs to relieve ADHD, but drugs can only provide relief and cannot eradicate it. It also needs to be coordinated with psychological counseling and environmental auxiliary treatment.

Medication for ADHD

Most experts currently believe that Ritalin is very effective in treating ADHD in children. It can help focus attention, alleviate symptoms of excessive activity, and thus improve behavior. As the child's behavior improves, his or her academic performance will also improve, and as his or her emotions stabilize, conflicts with classmates will decrease. However, the only drawback of Ritalin is that it cannot eradicate the disease and can only be taken long-term.

Each tablet of Ritalin is 10 mg, 1 tablet per morning, taken after meals. If the effect is not obvious after taking it for a period of time, the dosage can be increased as appropriate. The effective dose of the drug varies from person to person. Parents should contact the teacher frequently, observe the reactions closely, and find out the effective dose. If the child experiences loss of appetite, dizziness, insomnia, etc., parents do not need to panic, and the dosage can be reduced slightly. After 2-3 weeks, the child will adapt and the reaction will disappear.

To avoid drug resistance, you do not need to take the medicine on Sundays, holidays, and when you are not studying. You can also stop taking the medicine during winter and summer vacations. However, if you need to study and do homework on holidays, you can take Ritalin half an hour before studying. The effect of Ritalin can only last for 4-6 hours after a single dose. Therefore, it must be taken long-term to be effective. If you stop taking the medicine at will, the symptoms will reappear. Depending on individual conditions, the drug can be taken for 1-5 years, but as age increases and the condition improves, the dosage can be gradually reduced until it is stopped.
