The health benefits of meridian massage

In our lives, most people pay more attention to health preservation, because nothing is more important than the body, so many people like to spend a certain amount of time on health preservation. One of the more effective health preservation methods is to massage the meridians. This method can open the meridians of the patient's whole body, give people a particularly comfortable feeling, and help blood circulation. So what are the health preservation effects of meridian massage?

1. Slow venous blood flow

Slow venous blood flow increases the contact time between activated platelets and coagulation factors and the vein wall, which can easily cause thrombosis. If it occurs in the damaged venous intima, the probability of thrombosis is greatly increased, which is the primary factor in deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremities.

2. Damage to the venous endothelium

The venous endothelium has good anticoagulant and platelet adhesion and aggregation inhibition functions. If the venous intima is damaged, intravenous thrombosis may occur. Common in chemical injuries, mechanical injuries, and infectious injuries.

3. Hypercoagulable state

The hypercoagulable state of blood makes it easy for blood to coagulate in the venous system. Combined with endothelial damage or slow blood flow, deep vein thrombosis may form.

Among the above three factors, each factor is closely related to the occurrence of thrombosis, but a single factor cannot cause disease independently. It is often the combined effect of two or three factors that causes deep vein thrombosis.

Clinical manifestations

1. Pain

It is often the first symptom to appear, mainly due to the thrombus stimulating an inflammatory response in the venous wall and the rapid expansion of the distal vein of the thrombus, which stimulates the nerve receptors in the blood vessel wall. Deep vein thrombosis or inferior vena cava thrombosis in the lower limbs often occurs in the calf gastrocnemius, thigh, groin and other areas. Symptoms are usually distension, painful spasms, and tension, which can be relieved by lying in bed or elevating the affected limb.

2. Swelling

Is the main or only symptom. Swelling of one limb is common. If it is an inferior vena cava thrombosis, it may manifest as bilateral limb swelling.

3. Varicose veins and changes in skin temperature and color

Due to the obstruction of blood return, the skin of the affected limb is often purple-red and the skin temperature rises.

4. Systemic reactions

Such as increased body temperature, increased pulse rate, increased white blood cell count, etc. The body temperature is generally below 38.5℃.

5. Pulmonary embolism

After thrombosis in the deep veins or inferior vena cava of the lower limbs, it may detach and cause pulmonary embolism. Some cases may cause cardiac and respiratory arrest, which is life-threatening. It is the most serious complication of deep vein thrombosis in the lower limbs. Common symptoms include dyspnea, chest pain, and hemoptysis.

6. Post-thrombotic syndrome

The main symptoms are heaviness and discomfort in the limbs, swelling, and worsening after standing for a long time or moving. It may be accompanied by venous intermittent claudication, superficial varicose veins, skin pigmentation, thickening and roughness, itching, eczematous dermatitis, long-lasting or recurring ulcers, etc.
