Symptoms of tendinitis fingers_Symptoms of tendinitis

Patients with tendonitis often feel pain, and there is always tenderness in the joints and nearby areas. The pain is particularly severe with the slightest touch. In addition, there will be numbness and tingling, and joint stiffness is often accompanied, including being restrained during activities. Joint swelling and pain often occur. Persistent pain can cause the disease to recur, so tendonitis is a very painful disease.

Symptoms of tendinitis

Tendonitis is commonly known as "pulse fossa wind" and belongs to the category of "strain" in traditional Chinese medicine. Patients will feel varying degrees of pain, numbness, stiffness, swelling and other symptoms in the joints. This is pain caused by "stagnation of qi and blood stasis". "Qi hurts the pain, and the shape hurts the swelling". External force injures the meridians, causing obstruction of the meridians, disorder of qi and blood circulation, and poor circulation. Tendon ointment is needed to promote local blood microcirculation and improve nutrition of tissues around the lesion.

1. Common symptoms of tendinitis

1. Tenderness in or near joints, especially around the shoulder, wrist, or heel (here called Achilles tendinitis) or on the outside of the elbow (here the disease is called tennis elbow).

2. In some cases, numbness or tingling occurs.

3. Painful joint stiffness limits the movement of the affected joints.

4. Occasionally, there is slight swelling in the joints.

5. Persistent pain. The tendon continues to hurt after the original injury or it recurs after a long time. You should see a doctor if the following situations occur

6. If the pain does not improve after 7 to 10 days, you should see a doctor to avoid it turning into chronic tendinitis or coexisting with other diseases such as bursitis, wrist syndrome or phlebitis.

7. If the pain is severe and accompanied by swelling, there may be a tendon rupture and immediate treatment is required.

2. Clinical manifestations of tendinitis

Most people cannot clearly point out the location of the pain, but only complain of joint stiffness, soreness or a feeling of lack of strength in the joints during exercise. Sometimes a band-like pain is felt.

1. Local swelling: The affected tendon will have cord-like bulges of varying degrees.

2. Functional impairment: Tenosynovitis occurring in the wrist of the upper limb often affects the players' power, and sometimes the movements will be deformed when hitting the ball. Tenosynovitis occurring in the ankle will cause pain during exercise and affect the movements. The tendon sheath is a sheath-like structure that surrounds the tendon. The outer layer is fibrous tissue, which is attached to the bones and adjacent tissues and plays a role in fixing and protecting the tendons. The inner layer is the synovium, which nourishes the tendon and secretes synovial fluid to facilitate the sliding of the tendon. Due to repeated excessive friction, the tendon and tendon sheath become inflamed, edematous, and the fibrous sheath wall thickens to form a narrow ring. The fibrosis and thickening of the tendon make it difficult for the tendon to slide in the sheath, which is stenosing tenosynovitis.

Complications of tendinitis

If patients with this disease do not pay attention to rest or treatment, the disease will often worsen due to excessive movement of the lesion. Pain is the most obvious manifestation. In the later stage, the main complications include the following problems:

1. Chronic swelling (gravity edema); 2. Muscle atrophy; 3. Avulsion fracture; 4. Joint stiffness; 5. Ligament relaxation.

Warm reminder: Tendonitis commonly occurs in the wrists, fingers, shoulders, etc. Women and diabetics are more likely to develop this disease. Patients will feel joint pain and morning stiffness. Usually the feeling of morning joint stiffness is most obvious after getting up, and the symptoms will not be significantly relieved with frequent activities. The affected joints are swollen and even snap, and joint movement is impaired.
