Intermittent pain in the upper abdomen?

Intermittent pain in the upper abdomen generally has many causes, most of which are caused by intestinal diseases, but it still depends on the specific location of the pain. It is generally best to go to the hospital to determine the cause and then treat it symptomatically. Only symptomatic treatment can effectively control the disease and avoid missing the best treatment time. You must pay more attention to rest, keep warm and avoid catching cold.

How to prevent acute gastroenteritis

When we eat and drink too much, it is the peak time for acute gastroenteritis. Although it is advocated not to overeat, it is impossible not to eat and drink more during the Spring Festival.

Vomiting and diarrhea are not a pleasant feeling. Today I will teach you some tips on how to deal with acute gastroenteritis.

Vomiting and diarrhea are not comfortable

1. Stop eating and drinking, otherwise it will become more serious. Generally speaking, if you have acute gastroenteritis, no one will ask you to eat or drink. You should starve yourself, eat less, and drink more water.

2. Eat mainly porridge and easily digestible pasta. Remember to add salt to the porridge and pasta to replenish the body's salt and prevent dehydration. You should also eat less of these things, eat them more often, and eat small meals frequently.

3. Drink more water and add honey or salt to the water to ensure the normal functioning of your body and avoid fainting. Drink boiled water at appropriate temperature and do not drink mineral water.

4. Eat something that helps digestion, such as hawthorn slices. There is also tangerine peel. Boil the tangerine peel or soak it in boiling water, and drink the tangerine peel soup, you will feel better.

5. Taking medicines, such as Shenqu, Metoclopramide, Jianweixiaoshi tablets, etc., are very effective for acute gastroenteritis. I found that Huoxiang Zhengqi Water is actually very good, but of course don’t try it randomly.

6. Generally speaking, you should also take cold medicine at the same time, because most acute gastroenteritis is caused by catching a cold, so cold medicine should also be taken appropriately.

Causes of acute gastroenteritis

1. Infection by bacteria and toxins

Common infections are Salmonella and halophilic bacteria (Vibrio parahaemolyticus), toxins are commonly found in Staphylococcus aureus, and viruses can also be seen. There are often cases of collective outbreaks or multiple outbreaks in families.

The disease can be caused by eating contaminated poultry, livestock meat, or fish; eating seafood such as crabs and snails where halophilic bacteria grow; or eating leftovers or rice contaminated by Staphylococcus aureus.

2. Physical and chemical factors

Eating raw or cold food or certain medicines such as salicylates, sulfonamides, certain antibiotics, etc.; or accidentally ingesting strong acids, strong alkalis and pesticides can all cause this disease.

Differential diagnosis of acute gastroenteritis

1. Parasitic infection

Peripheral blood eosinophilia can be seen in parasitic diseases caused by hookworms, schistosoma japonicum, red roundworms, and cysticercus, each of which has its own clinical manifestations.

2. Intestinal cancer and malignant lymphoma

There may also be an increase in peripheral blood eosinophils, but this is secondary and should be accompanied by other manifestations of cancer and lymphoma.

3. Eosinophilic granuloma

It mainly occurs in the stomach and large intestine, with localized masses in the small intestine. Pathological tissue examination shows eosinophilic granulomas mixed in the connective tissue matrix. Allergic history is rare, and the number of white blood cells and eosinophils in the peripheral blood usually does not increase.
