What tests should patients with early cancer undergo?

Early physical examination methods for cancer This is a concern for many cancer patients. How to solve the problem of early physical examination methods for cancer? The following is a detailed introduction of early physical examination methods for cancer by our hospital's cancer experts.

As people's awareness of self-care continues to increase, health check-ups are increasingly accepted by people. However, the detection rate of early cancer is still very low. The reason is that when people choose physical examination items, they do not know which examinations can help detect cancer early.

Health checkup experts say that physical examinations are an important way to detect precancerous lesions and cancers at an early stage. Blood tests, X-rays, B-ultrasound, and mammography are all commonly used tumor screening methods. When abnormal test results are found, CT, MRI, pathological biopsy and other tests can also be used for diagnosis. Since whole-body CT and MRI are relatively expensive, experts recommend: first pass the routine tumor screening in the physical examination items, and then decide whether further diagnosis is needed.

Items commonly used in cancer screening

1. Blood test: Blood test is an important means to detect early cancer. It detects whether various tumor markers in the blood are elevated. Blood tests can be used to detect and identify various malignant tumors.

2. Digital rectal examination: It can determine whether there are any lesions in the rectum 7 to 10 cm away from the anal verge and the nature of the lesions. Clinically, 70%-80% of rectal cancers can be detected through digital rectal examination.

3. Fecal occult blood test: If a positive patient is found, further colonography or colonoscopy can be performed to reduce the missed diagnosis of patients with colorectal cancer.

4. Chest X-ray: Different images will appear after X-rays pass through organ tissues. Some hidden tumors can also be shown on X-rays.

5. B-ultrasound: Using color multispectral imaging technology, it can clearly detect whether there are any tumors or lesions in most organs of the body, such as the thyroid gland, gallbladder, spleen, kidney, and pelvis.

6. Gynecological cervical smear or TCT: can obtain exfoliated cells from the cervical opening to check for early cervical cancer.

7. Breast molybdenum-palladium radiography: It can display images of different tissues such as the nipple, areola, breast fat, glands, etc. in X-ray films, which is helpful for discovering deep and tiny breast cancer lesions.

8. Gastroscopy and colonoscopy: The color, vascular texture, and glandular morphology of the esophagus, stomach, and intestinal mucosa can be directly observed to differentiate and identify inflammation, scar stenosis, or tumors. Suspicious lesions can also be immediately confirmed by pathological biopsy.
