Diet care for patients with bladder cancer

Researchers at Harvard University in the United States conducted a 10-year follow-up study on nearly 50,000 American men aged 40-75 and found that those who drank 6 large cups of boiled water a day had a 50% lower risk of bladder cancer than those who only drank 1 large cup. This may be because the liquid will excrete carcinogens from the body before they act on the bladder. This reduces the chance of attachment to the bladder wall. On the other hand, the tap water that people drink is chlorinated and sterilized. 13 harmful substances can be separated from the treated water. Among them, halogenated hydrocarbons and chloroform have carcinogenic and teratogenic effects. When the water temperature reaches 90°C, the content of halogenated hydrocarbons increases from the original 531zg per kilogram to 177μg, which is twice the national drinking water hygiene standard. Therefore, drinking unboiled water increases the possibility of bladder cancer by 91%-38%. When the water temperature reaches 100°C, these two harmful substances will be greatly reduced as the steam evaporates. If it continues to boil for 3 minutes, it can be safely drunk.

In terms of daily diet, people who consume a lot of fruits and vegetables have a lower incidence of bladder cancer, especially those who consume cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage, cauliflower, radish, cabbage, rapeseed, shepherd's purse, and fresh fruits such as kiwi, fig, banana, and jujube. Bladder cancer is positively correlated with fat intake, but negatively correlated with vitamin A and carotenoids.

Bladder cancer is classified as "drowning blood" or "hematuria" in traditional Chinese medicine. It is often caused by the transfer of heat from the heart fire to the small intestine, or damp heat to the bladder, or kidney deficiency and poor qi transformation, resulting in stasis and toxicity. Mastering some appropriate dietary therapies is of great benefit to the prevention and treatment of bladder cancer. The following are some for your reference.

1. Cook 30g of Job's tears and 30g of red beans into porridge and eat it regularly to prevent cancer.

2. Take 20g of Tremella fuciformis, stewed in water, once a day, to prevent and fight cancer.

3. 120g fresh purslane, 250g rabbit meat (cut into pieces), add water and cook, season with salt, drink the soup and eat the meat, take it regularly to fight and prevent cancer.

4. Cook porridge with 100g of polished rice. Add 30-50g of water chestnut starch and appropriate amount of brown sugar. Regular consumption can prevent cancer.

5. 100g loofah (wash, peel and cut into pieces), 100g duck blood cube. Add seasoning and cook. It can clear away heat, dampness, detoxify and prevent bladder cancer.

6. Mix 100g of fresh grape juice, 100g of fresh lotus root juice and 60g of fresh Rehmannia juice in a clay pot and boil. Add appropriate amount of honey and drink it warm. It can be used for hematuria and dysuria caused by bladder cancer.

7. Cut 100g of fresh radish into slices, marinate it with white honey for a while, put it on an iron plate and roast it until it is dry, then dip it in honey and roast it repeatedly until 50g of white honey is roasted. After it cools down, chew it slowly and drink two sips of light salt water to treat urinary pain caused by bladder cancer.

8. 250g sugarcane (chopped into small pieces), 100g Imperata root cut into small sections, wrap them together with 100g mung beans and water and cook until the beans are cooked. Remove the sugarcane and Imperata root, drink the soup and eat the beans. You can also add appropriate amount of rock sugar. It is used for patients with obvious hematuria caused by bladder cancer.

9. Cook 30g of red beans and 50g of polished rice into porridge. When it is cooked, add 15g of chicken gizzard powder and cook until the porridge is ready. Eat it for breakfast to help treat urethral pain and lower limb pain caused by bladder cancer and infection.

10. Take 1 watermelon and 1 bowl of raisins. Cut a piece of watermelon near the stem. Pour the washed and drained raisins into the loosened watermelon pulp and cover it with the cut watermelon piece. Seal it with mud and place it in a cool place. After 10 days, remove the mud, take off the lid and pour out the juice, which is a fragrant and sweet wine containing trace amounts of ethanol. It can be used for patients with bladder cancer who have difficulty urinating or who have edema.
