Patients with esophageal cancer should undergo routine examinations in a timely manner

Esophageal cancer is a tumor disease with great harm. It will seriously affect the patient's life and health, which makes the family very worried. Many patients will not undergo esophageal cancer examination early, which may cause them to miss the best time for treatment. Therefore, everyone should understand the examination of esophageal cancer so as to detect the disease early. The following is an introduction to the examination of esophageal cancer.

Tests for esophageal cancer include:

(1) Esophageal CT scan: CT scan can clearly show the relationship between the esophagus and the adjacent mediastinal organs. Normally, the esophagus is clearly demarcated from the adjacent organs, and the thickness of the esophageal wall does not exceed 5 mm. If the thickness of the esophageal wall increases and the boundary with the surrounding organs is blurred, it indicates the presence of esophageal lesions. This type of examination for esophageal cancer is relatively common.

(2) Exfoliative cytology examination of esophageal mucosa: This method is simple, less painful, and has a low false positive rate. Practice has shown that it is feasible to conduct large-scale surveys in areas with a high incidence of esophageal cancer. The overall positive rate can reach more than 90%. This is also an examination item for esophageal cancer.

(3) X-ray barium meal examination: This method is difficult to detect except for very early esophageal cancer. Experienced radiologists fully adjust the barium and ask the patient to swallow it in small sips at a time. Careful observation from multiple angles and double contrast of gas and barium can usually reveal signs of early cancer, such as thickening, tortuosity, or dotted interruption of the esophageal mucosa; or hair on the edge of the esophagus; or small filling defects; or small niches; or localized stiffness of the tube wall; or barium retention. This is also one of the examination methods for esophageal cancer.

The above is the examination of esophageal cancer. I hope everyone can understand it one by one. As long as you know the above examination methods for esophageal cancer, you can let the patient receive treatment as soon as possible, and then the condition can be effectively alleviated. So if you want patients to control the condition as soon as possible, please refer to the examination methods for esophageal cancer. Finally, I wish all patients can fight the disease to the end.
