Non-diet-related factors in the causes of colorectal cancer

Non-diet-related factors in the causes of colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer is one of the common digestive tract malignancies. Generally speaking, the cause of colorectal cancer is believed to be related to improper diet. However, during the long-term clinical treatment process, our oncology experts found that the cause of colorectal cancer can also be studied from the following aspects.

The average age of colorectal cancer patients is between 60 and 65 years old. The older you are, the greater the risk of colon cancer. This shows that age is likely the cause of colorectal cancer.

A family history of colorectal cancer increases the risk of immediate family members developing the disease, and some family situations, such as familial polyposis, pose a lot of risk to patients with colorectal cancer.

It is generally believed that long-term deposition of schistosome eggs on the large intestinal mucosa can cause repeated ulcers, repairs, chronic inflammation and other lesions of the mucosa, resulting in adenomatous hyperplasia and, on this basis, cancer.

Genetic factors are also one of the main causes of colorectal cancer. Several genes and genetic diseases cause great harm to colon cancer: familial polyposis, Turcot syndrome, Gardner syndrome, juvenile polyposis, Cowden's disease, neurofibromatosis. Ulcerative colitis, high dietary fat, and low dietary fiber can increase the risk of colorectal cancer.

The above are all non-dietary factors that are common causes of colorectal cancer, and are often overlooked. Our experts briefly introduce these contents here, hoping that patients will not ignore these causes of colorectal cancer. Only by treating the causes can the disease be completely cured.
