Age for laser freckle removal

Age for laser freckle removal

Some people may have some spots on their skin due to aging. If the spots on the skin are not eliminated as soon as possible, they may think that it greatly affects their appearance, so they will want to remove the spots. Our more common methods of removing spots are laser and e-light. Some people will take ion freckle removal. So what is the age limit for laser freckle removal?

At the same time, the following people are not suitable for laser freckle removal:

1. Pregnant women. Because the treatment involves varying degrees of pain, theoretically, it is impossible to completely rule out the potential impact on fetal development.

2. People who are allergic to photosensitivity or have used photosensitivity drugs (retinoic acid, tetracycline, etc.).

3. People with hypertension and diabetes.

4. People who take certain psychotropic drugs for a long time.

5. Those who take anti-inflammatory drugs or antihypertensive drugs.

6. Those who have been exposed to sunlight within 2 weeks.

7. People with inflammation on the face.

8. It is not recommended for people with facial chloasma.

9. Systemic use of retinoic acid (treatment can only be carried out at least 2 months after stopping use). Such patients may have a temporary impairment of the underlying skin repair function.

Will the freckles recur after laser treatment?

Whether laser freckle removal will recur depends on many factors, such as the type of freckles, treatment equipment, treatment method, treating doctor and follow-up care. Spots like freckles and nevus of Ota can be completely cured with laser and will not recur throughout your life. However, age spots may recur because they are a problem of skin aging, not a problem of pigment cells, so they will inevitably reappear as we age. Chloasma is a spot with complex causes, which is very easy to recur if it is treated solely with laser, because laser will only destroy pigment cells but cannot inhibit the activity of pigment cells. In addition, chloasma is also related to the body's endocrine system, so in the south, the treatment of chloasma is generally carried out by internal adjustment and external treatment.

After laser freckle removal, patients should pay attention to the following postoperative repair:

1. Keep the treatment area clean to avoid infection and friction.

2. The indurated skin on the treated area will fall off on its own in 7-10 days. Do not peel it off with your hands, otherwise the pigmentation will be serious and scars will be left easily.

3. After the scab falls off, there may be temporary pigmentation in the area. To prevent or reduce this situation, you can use sunscreen and freckle removal products.

4. After laser freckle removal, there will be a slight burning sensation and slight redness of the skin at the treated area. This is a normal reaction. If necessary, apply local cold compress for 20 to 30 minutes to relieve or eliminate the redness and heat.

As long as you can go to a regular plastic surgery hospital for laser surgery and cooperate with the doctor's postoperative recovery, normally, laser freckle removal will not remove freckles. However, some patients go to some beauty salons for laser treatment in order to save some money, which greatly increases the risk of recurrence. Therefore, if you want to try laser freckle removal surgery, you must go through formal channels.
