Four common types of cervical cancer

Four common types of cervical cancer

Cervical cancer is a common malignant tumor in women, usually found during gynecological examinations. It is divided into squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, of which the former is the main type, accounting for about 90% to 95%. Under the microscope, there are several types of cervical cancer:

1. Cauliflower type

Cauliflower type, also known as nipple type cervical cancer, is more common in the lip of the cervix and is shaped like cauliflower or nipple. Careful observation under the microscope shows that the cancer attached to the lip of the cervix is polyp-like or nipple-like, and there are cauliflower-like growths of varying sizes protruding in the vagina, which may be accompanied by necrosis, infection, and are fragile and prone to bleeding. This type of cervical cancer can be treated with laser.

2. Infiltrative type

The invasive type is also called the endogenous type. The cancerous tissue spreads deep into the cervix. The tumor develops in an invasive manner. The cervix is enlarged and has a smooth surface or only superficial ulcers. This type of bleeding is less and is less sensitive to radiation.

3. Ulcerative type

After the cancerous tissue invades the surface of the cervix, it necrotizes and falls off to form ulcers. The entire cervix is replaced by a large cavity. The cervical lips and cervical canal are high-risk areas and are prone to secondary infection. Foul-smelling secretions may be discharged.

4. Nodular type

There are fewer patients with nodular cervical cancer. Like endophytic cervical cancer, it mainly invades deep into the cervix. The tumor is hard in texture, has poor elasticity, and is more harmful.
