Traditional Chinese medicine treatments relieve the pain of chemotherapy for colorectal cancer

Rectal cancer is a common and highly prevalent malignant tumor of the gastrointestinal tract, which seriously endangers the patient's health and even life safety. Traditional Chinese medicine has its own unique features in the treatment of colorectal cancer. Whether it is oral administration of Chinese medicine, external treatment or acupuncture treatment, it can play a good auxiliary role for patients, especially rectal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Simiao powder for external application

Traditional Chinese medicine: Ginseng 1g, Euphorbia 1g, Dahurian 1g, Phytolacca 1g, Musk 0.25g or Borneol 3g.

Method: Take 1 bag each of Ginseng, Euphorbia, Dahurian, and Phytolacca, 1g each bag, mix with rice wine or honey to make small medicine cakes, put 1/2 bottle of musk (about 0.25g/bottle) in the medicine cakes, stick the front side on the navel or Guanyuan acupoint, fix with a large medical patch, and change every 3 days.

Note: If you experience any discomfort such as local skin ulceration, rash, itching, pain, etc. during medication, you should stop taking the medicine and use it as appropriate after the symptoms are relieved.

Indications: Ascites, incomplete intestinal obstruction, abdominal mass and pain.

Chinese medicine soaking method

Traditional Chinese medicine: 10g each of Chuancaowu, 30g of Polygonum multiflorum, 30g of Artemisia argyi, and 30g of safflower.

Method: Decoction 200ml of the above medicine, add it to 1000ml of warm water, soak your hands and feet for about 20 minutes every day, once a day, 5 days a week.

Indications: Numbness of hands and feet caused by long-term chemotherapy for rectal cancer.

Acupuncture treatment

Under the guidance of professional Chinese medicine practitioners, colorectal cancer patients can choose to use body acupuncture, head acupuncture, electroacupuncture, ear acupuncture, wrist and ankle acupuncture, moxibustion, acupoint thread embedding and cupping to regulate gastrointestinal digestion problems and poor sleep caused by chemotherapy.
