As we all know, lymphoma, also known as lymphoma, is caused by malignant changes in lymphocytes. It can basically be divided into two categories: Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. So, what are the differences between Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma? Different patient groups Hodgkin's lymphoma is more common in young people and less common in children. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma can be seen in people of all age groups. However, the number of patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma is relatively small, accounting for about 9%-10% of all cases, while non-Hodgkin's lymphoma accounts for about 90%. Most patients in my country suffer from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Symptoms vary The initial symptoms of Hodgkin's lymphoma are usually painless swollen lymph nodes in the neck or above the collarbone, more commonly on the left side, followed by swollen lymph nodes in the armpits and deep lymph nodes. Swollen lymph nodes can compress nerves and adjacent organs and cause corresponding symptoms, such as unexplained persistent or periodic fever, and patients also have systemic symptoms such as night sweats, fatigue and weight loss. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma also often presents painless cervical and supraclavicular lymphadenopathy as the first symptom, but it generally develops rapidly and is prone to distant spread, easily invading the chest cavity, and often involving the gastrointestinal tract, bone marrow, and central nervous system. Patients may show symptoms of corresponding organ involvement. Patients rarely have symptoms such as fever, weight loss, and night sweats, but often have difficulty swallowing, nasal congestion, nose bleeding, lymphadenopathy, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and abdominal masses. Different prognosis In my country, the prognosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma is relatively good. The treatment of classical Hodgkin's lymphoma is relatively simple and economical, with good treatment effects and a high long-term survival rate. The prognosis of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is relatively poor, but it is also possible to be cured. |
