Age of onset of diffuse gastric cancer

Age of onset of diffuse gastric cancer

Gastric cancer is a very serious disease. In daily life, gastric cancer has a great impact on the patient's physical health and daily life. Many patients think that chronic gastric cancer is an incurable disease. Gastric cancer has serious harm to the human body. We should pay attention to it in our daily life. So, what is the age of onset of diffuse gastric cancer?

Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in my country, ranking first in gastrointestinal tumor deaths, with a peak incidence of 50 to 60 years old. The study found that from 1982 to 1999, 182 hospitalized patients under the age of 40 were diagnosed with gastric cancer by gastroscopy, surgery and pathological examination, accounting for 12% of gastric cancer in the same period.

Experts conducted a clinical data analysis and found that gastric cancer is now approaching the younger generation.

The average age of gastric cancer is 33 years old. The average time from the onset of symptoms to diagnosis is 8.3 months. Early symptoms are usually hidden and non-specific, often similar to gastritis and peptic ulcers, and the course of the disease is short and the incidence is low. Clinicians lack vigilance and are prone to misdiagnosis.

For this reason, oncology experts remind clinicians that they should be highly alert to the possibility of gastric cancer in patients with upper abdominal pain, acid reflux, belching, nausea and vomiting, upper abdominal fullness, poor appetite, and weight loss, especially those under 40 years old.
