Does eating too much meat cause colon cancer?

Recently, there have been more reports of colorectal cancer. There are many colorectal cancer patients around us. There are many reasons for its occurrence, such as irregular life and irregular diet, which can cause colorectal cancer, affect people's health, and cause pain to people's bodies. This requires everyone to believe in and understand the reasons so that they can do relevant prevention in advance.

The high incidence of colorectal cancer has drawn our attention. There are many causes of this disease, including unhealthy diet or infection with bacteria. Now we will introduce the various causes of colorectal cancer in detail, hoping that everyone will pay attention.

(1) Dietary factors: The lack of unabsorbed fiber in food causes feces to stay in the intestines for a longer time, resulting in a prolonged effect of carcinogens in the feces on the intestinal wall, which promotes the intestinal absorption of carcinogens. A high-fiber diet has the ability to absorb water, so it can increase stool volume, reduce the concentration of carcinogens, shorten the residence time in the intestines, reduce the action time of intestinal carcinogens, and absorb harmful substances to promote excretion, thereby reducing the risk of colorectal cancer.

(2) The incidence of colorectal cancer increases in areas where schistosomiasis is prevalent. It is generally believed that the long-term deposition of schistosome eggs on the colorectal mucosa can cause repeated ulcers, repairs and chronic inflammatory lesions of the mucosa, and on this basis induce colorectal cancer.

(3) Chronic colitis is closely related to colorectal cancer: some reports have shown that the chance of developing colorectal cancer is 6.9 times higher.

(4) Hemorrhagic ulcerative colitis has a higher risk of cancer. About half of patients who suffer from the disease for more than 10 years will develop cancer.

(5) There is a close relationship between colorectal adenoma and colorectal cancer: Multiple familial adenoma is a precancerous lesion caused by genetic mutation of chromosomes. It is a dominant genetic disease. 50% of children will develop the disease later. Generally, adenoma begins at the age of 8-10. If not treated, 100% of them will turn into cancer around the age of 40.
