What are the symptoms of secondary liver cancer

What are the symptoms of secondary liver cancer? There are no obvious symptoms in the early stage of secondary liver cancer. Once there are any clinical manifestations, the lesions are often larger or more numerous, and some symptoms will appear, such as weight loss, fatigue, and liver pain.

Secondary liver cancer can be found before or during surgery for malignant tumors of abdominal organs; it can also be found during follow-up after primary cancer surgery; most of them are found in a stage after primary cancer surgery due to symptoms or evidence of liver metastasis; a few seek medical treatment with liver metastasis as the first symptom, and some of them die without the primary cancer being identified. In view of the fact that if the tumor of secondary liver cancer only involves the liver, early detection and early treatment can often prolong the patient's survival or even achieve radical cure, it is necessary to emphasize the detection of this disease in the subclinical stage. Although this disease is not as good as primary liver cancer, most of them can be detected through simple AFP monitoring, but if you pay attention to the following points, it is still not difficult to find subclinical secondary liver cancer:

① After radical resection of various primary cancers that are prone to secondary liver cancer, liver ultrasound imaging should be added to the follow-up examination regularly (every 3 to 6 months); ② After radical resection of gastrointestinal cancer, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) monitoring should be added to the follow-up examination; ③ After radical resection of any malignant tumor that may metastasize to the liver, if symptoms that are not easily explained by primary cancer occur, especially unexplained low-grade fever, upper abdominal distension, pain, discomfort, diarrhea, right shoulder pain, etc., liver ultrasound imaging should be performed.

There are no obvious symptoms and signs in the early stage of secondary liver cancer. Once clinical manifestations occur, the lesions are often larger or more numerous. As the cancer lesions grow larger, clinical manifestations similar to those of primary liver cancer may appear, such as weight loss, fatigue, liver pain, abdominal distension, and abdominal mass. Jaundice, ascites, and cachexia may appear in the late stage, but most patients do not have clinical manifestations of chronic hepatitis or cirrhosis. About 95% of patients have afp < 20ng/ml. A few liver metastases from gastric, pancreatic, and ovarian cancers can measure low concentrations of afp, and some have higher concentrations. There are often no enzymatic abnormalities in the early stage. Those with clinical manifestations may have increased levels of υ-gt, alkaline phosphatase (alp), and 5′-nucleoside phosphate = esterase isozyme v, with a positive rate of about 60 to 80 percent. At present, the lower limit of various positioning diagnostic methods is about 1 to 2 cm, and the positive rate of those with clinical manifestations can reach 80 to 90 percent.

This is the introduction to the diagnosis of secondary liver cancer. For secondary liver cancer, when there are no obvious symptoms in the early stages, it is necessary to do relevant examinations and diagnoses. It is very important to discover the situation early and take measures. When some related symptoms appear, you should pay attention to your symptoms.
