Brief Analysis of What is Uterine Cancer

What is uterine cancer? Uterine cancer scares many women because if this disease is not treated in time, it is likely to endanger women's lives and cause serious consequences. What is uterine cancer? Uterine cancer refers to malignant tumors that occur in the vaginal part of the uterus and the cervical canal.

Most uterine cancers develop in the lining of the uterus, called endometrial cancer. The more aggressive uterine sarcoma develops in the myometrium of the uterine wall and accounts for less than 5 percent of all cases (endometrial cancer alone). If untreated, endometrial cancer can penetrate the uterine wall and invade the bladder or rectum, or spread to the vagina, fallopian tubes, ovaries, or more distant organs. Fortunately, endometrial cancer grows slowly and is often diagnosed before it spreads to distant sites.

Because the incidence of cervical cancer in my country has been very high for a long time, people usually call cervical cancer uterine cancer. In fact, this name is incorrect. It should be called cervical cancer or uterine cancer. These two types of cancers grow on the uterus, but in different parts of the uterus. There are many differences between them. Their incidence is different.

Cervical cancer used to be very common, but has gradually decreased in recent years, especially in some large cities. In the past, the incidence of uterine body cancer was relatively low, but has increased significantly in recent years. The decrease and increase in incidence are related to their different risk factors. Their treatment methods are also different. Of course, surgery and radiotherapy are still used for treatment, but the specific methods are different. In addition, uterine body cancer can often be treated with endocrine therapy.
