Is laryngeal cancer hereditary?

Is laryngeal cancer hereditary? There is no clear research report on the impact of genetic factors on the occurrence of laryngeal cancer. However, due to genetic susceptibility, the probability of laryngeal cancer in the offspring of a family with a history of the disease is much higher than that of the general population. It is recommended to reduce smoking and drinking, eat less stimulating food, develop a healthy and good lifestyle, and have regular physical examinations. So don't worry too much about the issue of laryngeal cancer inheritance.

Is laryngeal cancer hereditary? Laryngeal cancer is not hereditary. So, what causes laryngeal cancer? What are the main causes of laryngeal cancer?

(1) Smoking: The burning of tobacco can produce tobacco tar, of which benzopyrene can cause cancer. Tobacco smoke can stop or slow the movement of cilia, and also cause mucosal edema and bleeding, causing epithelial hyperplasia, thickening and squamous metaplasia, which becomes the basis for cancer.

(2) Excessive drinking: Long-term stimulation of the mucous membrane can cause it to degenerate and cause cancer.

(3) Chronic inflammatory stimulation: such as chronic laryngitis or respiratory tract inflammation.

(4) Air pollution: Long-term inhalation of harmful gases such as sulfur dioxide and industrial dust such as chromium and arsenic can easily cause it.

(5) Viral infection is closely related to the occurrence of cancer: It is generally believed that viruses can cause cells to change their nature and cause abnormal division; viruses can attach to genes and be passed on to the next generation of cells, causing cancer.

(6) Precancerous lesions: Repeated attacks of laryngeal keratosis and benign laryngeal tumors such as laryngeal papilloma may lead to cancer.

(7) Radiation: Radiation treatment of neck tumors may cause cancer.

(8) Sex hormones: Relevant experiments have shown that the percentage of estrogen receptor-positive cells in laryngeal cancer patients is significantly increased.
